Description

A live performance at Winterland Arena on December 18, 1969 was recorded on a soundboard. The sound was remastered and corrected as much as possible, and the live performance is just under 77 minutes long, and although there are some cuts, it is almost complete. Pianist Alberto Gianquinto, known for his work with James Cotton, and Aztec singer and percussionist Rico Reyes participated. After the success of Woodstock, the hit of the first album, and finally Santana went on tour. The opening song is “Conquistadore Rides Again,” which is also said to be a cover of the Beatles’ “Ticket To Ride.” The cover of Willie Bobo’s “Fried Neck Bones and Some Home Fries,” which was played at the end of Woodstock, is also included. There is a horn, but the performer is unknown. It was not until 1970 that new songs from the second album began to appear, but it was shocking to hear “Gumbo,” which was included on the third album, being played. They played the songs from their first album well, and “Soul Sacrifice” was the best performance with a drum solo. This is the most representative title of the longest live performance in 1969.
