Description

From the North American tour accompanying “Moonflower” in 1978, the late show on February 10th, the second day of the New York Palladium performance, which was held for two consecutive days, was completely recorded with ultra-high quality stereo sound board recording. This day was completely different from the previous day, as they opened with Zulu/Jugando, an instrumental from their new work, and overwhelmed the audience with their intense Latin rhythm from the beginning. Immediately after that was Black Magic Woman, and the opening song from the previous day, Dance Sister Dance, followed by Europa (the fast playing in the second half was the best), Batuka / No One To Depend On, and Incident At Neshabur, an ideal flow. It seems that the audience was overwhelmed by the transcendent performance, which was mostly a medley without an MC. From then on, new and old numbers are arranged well, and you can enjoy the energetic live performance typical of this period with the highest level stereo line recording. With his first MC, the new song I’ll Be Waiting and the familiar Evil Ways will be played as a medley. The 13-minute Soul Sacrifice played in the middle is a great listen. The last 30 minutes, which include the new pop song She’s Not There and enter the stormy second half, are also a highlight. In Dance Sister Dance, there is a part where the volume goes up and down at the 40th second due to a recording problem on the day (it’s quite surprising), but other than that, the sound is truly official level with excellent stability and separation. The show is completely recorded. The beautifully controlled and tasteful guitar play is the best, and the three percussionists and Graham Rea’s drumming are amazing, making the whole thing lively, and you can enjoy the masterpiece of every song. Introducing Santana’s best live album with sound quality and content that can be said to be the best one. Live at Palladium, New York, NY. USA 10th February 1978 Late Show STEREO SBD Disc 1 1.
