Description
RUSH’s outstanding video has arrived! This work is an audience video shot at the “Binghamton performance on March 12, 1992”, which was in the middle of the “ROLL THE BONES TOUR 1991-1992”. The best thing about this work is the quality. There are several videos of this “ROLL THE BONES TOUR 1991-1992”, such as “ROLL THE COLOGNE” and “OAKLAND 1992 1ST NIGHT”. However, the quality of this work is the definitive version that easily surpasses them. The angle that captures the stage from the front is wonderful, and the screen is bright and very easy to see. Above all, the image quality of the 8mm video is amazing! At that time, it was shot analogue because it was before the “DV standard” appeared, but the image beauty does not look inferior even when viewed on today’s digital monitors. The highlights of the show, such as the scene where the three of them get together in “The Big Money” and the beautiful guitar solo in “Ghost of a Chance”, are clearly visible with a beautiful zoom. In addition, the dynamic animated band that appears in the opening, the missile that flies with a child on it in “Time Stand Still”, the skeleton that raps in “Roll The Bones”, the magic animation in “Show Don’t Tell”… the images that are projected one after another on the giant screen can be seen more powerfully and clearly than ever before. The audio surpasses such visual beauty. The sound recorded with such beautiful quality is like a sound board when you close your eyes. It is a superb level of sound quality that you can feel the spread of a luxurious stereo space even though there is no sense of distance. The cheers are only slightly included to create a sense of scale, and even the three-dimensional effect of the sound effects that are included here and there is clear. It is a super sound that makes you want to call it an “official audience”. Perhaps they were using 8mm video compatible with multi-track PCM. Although this work boasts such high quality, it is not without its flaws. In some places, the video stops and still images are inserted. For example, the first 40 seconds of “Force Ten” and the middle 50 seconds of “Roll The Bones”. When returning to the video, it seems that the camera was facing the floor or ceiling, and the scene was replaced with a still image. The processing of the still images and inserts is smooth and tasteful, and the super sound continues, so it makes you want to say “Good job!” rather than feeling uncomfortable. However, there are two parts where the super sound is interrupted, the first 40 seconds of “Freewill” and the entire “Bravado”. According to the maniac who produced this master, the 8mm video itself seems to have stopped in this part, and neither the video nor the audio was recorded. In that part, the screen is connected with a still image, and the audio of another analog master of the same performance is carefully supplemented. The other master is also wonderful, but compared to the super sound of the main part, the stereo feeling is weak and it is more like “normal superb sound”. However, careful editing keeps the sense of incongruity to a minimum. The love of the maniac who completed this master, “I want to leave it in the best possible form,” seems to overflow from the screen. Normally, it would be spoken of as a flaw, but the deep feelings are conveyed and it makes me happy. Although there are some minor flaws, this is a masterpiece video that RUSH maniacs poured their heart and soul into, saying “I’ll overcome it somehow!” The reason why maniacs were able to go that far is because the video and audio quality of the main story, and the performance are so amazing that they take your breath away. In order to convey the design of this nameless maniac to the fullest, it has been included in a two-disc DVDR. The catharsis of the huge medley “The Spirit of Radio”, “2112”, “Finding My Way”, “La Villa Strangiato”, “Anthem”, “Red Barchetta”, and “The Spirit of Radio” seen in this super quality.
