Description

“TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” was the ultimate progressive rock tour in RUSH history. Introducing the Dan Lampinski Collection! After all, this tour is the pinnacle of “progressive rock RUSH”, which created the sci-fi worldview epic trilogy “2112”, “A FAREWELL TO KINGS”, and “HEMISPHERES”. In addition to the representative song “2112,” it also includes songs such as “Xanadu” and “Cygnus Even this from a masterpiece! It is a big live that will be held. Moreover, since this work is about three months from the start of the tour, “Something For Nothing”, “Cygnus X-1” and “Circumstances”, which were omitted depending on the schedule, were also played. This is a live album where you can listen to the largest set list containing all songs from “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979”. I’m especially happy about “Circumstances,” which was dropped in the middle of the tour. The other day, a super-determined soundboard version “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” was also released as an official replacement, but “Circumstances” could not be heard there either. Moreover, these “Circumstances” are not just valuable. With this song, all “HEMISPHERES” songs are being performed! The order of the songs is different, so it is not a reproduction of the album, but on the other hand, it is freed from the time limit of the LP that bound the big songs on the studio version, and has been reconstructed in the natural flow of the actual stage. Of course, the flow of “Cygnus X-1” → “Hemispheres” is also perfect. It is truly a live album packed with the sound universe of “SF epic route RUSH” as one show! The introduction is long, but it was the famous Dan Lumpinski who recorded such a super definitive live. Even though he was a world-famous master, there were some subtle things mixed in in the early 1970s, but this work is the last recording in his collection. He makes full use of equipment such as the famous Nakamichi 550 & Nakamichi CM300, and his recording techniques are at the height of his maturity. In addition, Lampinski was apparently famous at the time, and the venue provided the best seats for recording, and the “perfect sound” was produced. In 2009, the Lumpinski Collection was released all at once, shocking the whole world, but this master is one of the best among them. It was released as a CDR as “BOSTON 1979” at the time and became a hot topic. This work is the latest remaster of that major recording. In the original recording, there was a tape change cut of about 25 seconds at the beginning of “Hemispheres” and at the 4:50 mark of “2112”, but those parts were supplemented with the sound board version “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” so that you can listen to it smoothly. I finished it. This part is also worth listening to. After all, “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” is not just a sound board, but a historical sound source that even serves as an “official replacement.” There is almost no discomfort when connecting using it, so you can realize how amazing Lampinski magic is. Moreover, this sound board is a separate performance, but even though Geddy Lee sings quickly at the switching point of “2112”, it is connected beautifully and smoothly. It is a scene that not only records but also impresses with RUSH’s iron-clad performance. “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” can be called the pinnacle of prog-rock hard work. In order to experience that sound universe, the first basic thing is the “official substitute” transcendental sound board “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT”. However, because it is a vast universe, the audience recording that spreads throughout the venue is also exceptionally wonderful. That No. 1 recording is the true identity of this work. I’m a RUSH fan, I’m an irresistible fan of blockbuster progressive rock, and I’m passionate about the Lampinski sound…this is a great live show where all of us in our heads are saying in unison, “This is the best!” album.
