Description

In 2004, RUSH celebrated their 30th anniversary and toured the UK for the first time in eight years. The best original recording that conveys the scene is now available. This work includes “September 8, 2004 London Performance”. This is an audience recording recorded on the first day of the “Wembley Arena” performance, which was held for two consecutive days. This tour is also left in the official work “R30: 30TH ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR”, so let’s first look back at the schedule at that time and check the position of the show.・May 26th – June 13th: North America #1 (12 performances) ・June 23rd – 26th: North America #2a (3 performances) [“FEEDBACK” released on June 29th] ・June 29th – July 17th: North America #2b (12 performances), July 29th – August 22nd: North America #3 (16 performances), September 8th – 15th: UK (6 performances) ←★Coco★・9 March 17th – October 1st: Europe (8 performances) ← *Official video This is RUSH’s 2004. As usual, they toured North America in detail, and towards the end of the trip they went to Europe. This was their first European tour since 1992’s “ROLL THE BONES TOUR.” The first performance location was London. This work is a vacuum-packed audience recording of a scene that can even be called a “re-debut”. This work records a show that feels very special, and the sound is also special. This is the original master of this work that was given to us by the recording artist himself, but the taper is the master who is known as the “British master” at our store. He is a veteran who has continued to record the British scene from the 1980s to the present, and of course continued to produce masterpieces in the 2000s. Moreover, this work is an exceptional one among such master collections. He is a recording artist who is known for his ability to balance a realistic atmosphere with modern clarity, but in this work, the emphasis is heavily on “clearness.” Of course, the reality of the scene is engraved in this work, but the performance sound that penetrates the center is extremely powerful and the outline is clear. If you listen to it with headphones, there is no hall noise, but even that does not cloud the details, rather it only adds to the thickness of the ensemble. The snare, which tends to be sparse in the audience, has a lot of density, and the vocals are clear down to the last word in the lyrics. The balance is gorgeous and crisp, like a small FM broadcast. What is depicted with such sound is exactly the on-site experience of “R30: 30TH ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR”. There have been three fixed set tours in RUSH’s history, and the 30th anniversary was one of them. Therefore, this work is also a familiar set of official works, but it is also a good opportunity, so let’s organize it here. 70’s (6 songs)・RUSH: Working Man・FLY BY NIGHT: By-Tor And The Snow Dog・2112:2112 ・A FAREWELL TO KINGS: Xanadu・HEMISPHERES: The Trees/La Villa Strangiato 80’s (10 songs)・PERMANENT WAVES: The Spirit of Radio・MOVING PICTURES: Red Barchetta/YYZ/Tom Sawyer/Limelight・SIGNALS: Subdivisions・GRACE UNDER PRESSURE: Between The Wheels/Red Sector A・POWER WINDOWS: Mystic Rhythms・HOLD YOUR FIRE: Force Ten 90 Since the 1990s (12 songs)・ROLL THE BONES: Roll The Bones/Bravado/Dreamline・COUNTERPARTS: Animate・TEST FOR ECHO: Resist・VAPOR TRAILS: Earthshine/One Little Victory/Secret Touch・FEEDBACK: The Seeker/Heart Full Of Soul /Summertime Blues/Crossroads…and so it goes like this. This volume should have been summarized. This means a rich variety, and although the three albums “MOVING PICTURES”, “ROLL THE BONES”, and “VAPOR TRAILS” are a little thicker, the selection is unbiased from each era. This is a perfect culmination to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Among these, the cover songs of “FEEDBACK” catch my attention. Eddie Cochran’s “Summertime Blues” was also played on the next “SNAKES & ARROWS TOUR”, but the other three cover songs are valuable limited numbers only for this tour.Such a set is included in the official work “R30: 30TH”. ANNIVERSARY WORLD TOUR”, but the passionate performance is not familiar. The spirit put into each song is amazing, Geddy Lee’s vocals are powerful in every voice, and Alex Lifeson’s riffs are also familiar. Neil Peart’s stick handling is also very sharp. RUSH always performs at a high level, but the energetic ensemble is incredibly enjoyable. RUSH has revived from a hiatus and returned to the UK in the new century. This is a live album with the finest sound that was recorded by a master who used his skill to record such “first day of reunion”.It was too dazzling for the Japanese people who could not “visit” again, and it is because now that the possibility of the future has been cut off forever.
