Description
The monumental live album “HEMISPHERES IN FRANKFURT” (hereafter referred to as 2CD) of “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” that shows the extreme north of progressive hard rock. Attached to this super-decisive edition is a “slightly interesting” soundboard album from the same tour. This work is the “November 20, 1978 Tucson” performance, which is known as a standard, just like the 2CD Frankfurt. I think many people have only heard it at the live performance that has produced many masterpieces, but this work uses a DAT master given to it by a person related to the band. According to the person, it was made into a DAT from a cassette that the soundman at the time gave as a gift to Neil Peart. The name of the cassette was “Indians Out West”, and it was released in 2008 with the name “INDIANS OUT WEST”. The DAT master is shown in the image. This work is a piece that has been remastered using this DAT again. As mentioned above, the freshness of this work, which has been carefully prepared through the people involved, is outstanding. It is unfortunate that this DAT is recorded in mono, unlike many previous releases, but there is no distortion or deterioration of the sound that has been released, and even if you subtract the weaknesses of mono, the sound quality is enough to be called a top sound source. In fact, the mild and natural sound is exactly as it is on tape. This time, a powerful digital remaster was applied, but we have not neglected to pay close attention so as not to spoil the natural sound, which is the best taste. It is a sound of a completely different dimension from the strangely crisp excessive equalization of the previous releases. “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979”, the pinnacle of progressive hard rock, was also the last opportunity for the taste of the 1970s to survive. The natural sound of this work conveys the lively and warm “sound of the era” beautifully! As with the previous release, there is a one-minute cut at 11:11 (Armageddon part) of “Cygnus X-1”, and this work also has a patched in take from the Detroit performance on December 2nd. It’s a shame that it’s recorded in mono and has some minor flaws, but the 124 minutes filled with sound that can only be experienced through the people involved is an irreplaceable pleasure. Moreover, since this work was released at the beginning of the tour, it also includes “Circumstances”, which cannot be heard on the 2CD. In other words, you can enjoy the entire live version of the masterpiece “HEMISPHERES” all at once! Since this is the pinnacle of historical “prog hardcore”, the first peak of RUSH, one live performance alone is not enough. This is another masterpiece for such men. Please enjoy both to your heart’s content! Live at Community Center, Tucson, Arizona, USA 20th November 1978 SBD (from Original DAT Master) Disc 1(76:42) 1. Intro 2. Anthem 3. A Passage To Bangkok 4.
