Description

This is a soundboard album from “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” that lets you hear the extreme north of progressive rock hard. This work is the “November 20, 1978 Tucson” performance, which is known as a classic among Rush fans. I think there are many people who have only listened to the live performances that have produced many masterpieces, but this work uses the DAT master given by the band staff. According to the people involved, it was a DAT version of a cassette that the soundman at the time gave Neil Peart as a gift. The name of the cassette was “Indians Out West” and it was released in 2008 under the proper name “INDIANS OUT WEST”. The image shown is the DAT Master. This work uses this DAT again and is one that has been repolished with modern remastering. As mentioned above, the freshness of this work, which has been traced through a reliable source through related parties, is outstanding. Unlike many previous releases, this DAT is recorded in monaural, but there is no distortion or deterioration of the sound that is present in previous releases, and the sound quality is enough to be said to be a top sound source even if you subtract the weaknesses of monaural. In fact, the mild and natural sound is exactly like the tape. This time, we have applied a powerful digital remaster, but we have taken great care to ensure that the most delicious, natural sound is not lost. It’s a sound that’s completely different from the strangely crisp excessive equalization that has already been released. “TOUR OF THE HEMISPHERES 1978-1979” was the pinnacle of prog rock, but it was also the last chance for the 70s taste to survive. The natural sound of this work perfectly conveys the lively and warm “sounds of the times”! As with the previous release, there is a one-minute cut at 11:11 (Armageddon part) of “Cygnus X-1”, and this work was also patched with the take from the Detroit performance on December 2nd. Although it was missed out on press due to the monaural recording and these slight shortcomings, the 124 minutes full of sounds that can only be enjoyed through the connections are an irreplaceable pleasure. Moreover, since this work was at the beginning of the tour, “Circumstances” was also included. In other words, you can enjoy the entire live version of the masterpiece “HEMISPHERES” at once! The pinnacle of historical “prog rock hard”. Please enjoy RUSH’s first peak stage with the highest sound quality.
