Description

The two weeks from mid-October 2005 onwards have been a complete blank zone for the “A BIGGER BANG” tour items. This is not because the sound sources were not available, but simply because the 2005 American items were saturated at the time (mainly CD-R items), and the release was overlooked. It is true that the sound quality of the audience recordings that appeared in mid-October was not blessed with good sound quality, but this is not limited to this period, and in the sound sources at the beginning of the tour, CD-R items that prioritized release speed over sound quality and were secondary to sound quality were widely used. As a result of the items at the end of August and September flooding the market, the release of the 2005 tour sound sources from mid-October has decreased. The Seattle performance on October 30th, which will be released this time, is not only the final performance of the month, but also the release of the first appearance sound source that will attract attention from enthusiasts around the world as an audience recording with surprisingly good sound quality. The quality is just easy to listen to. Although it is different from the recording level that can be compared to “like a sound board”, the clarity that combines a slight sense of distance and realism is a word of splendor. The performance that brought about the moderate sense of distance is so powerful that it makes you want to call it “the ideal audience recording”. The greatest advantage of audience recording is the realism. There, the Stones’ powerful performance resonates, and the last hot night of the October 2005 tour is revived after about 10 years. However, the beginning of the show seems to be the beginning of the 2005 tour, and it opens with a full-throttle groove feeling. Among them, “Shattered” has a strong feeling of dokkoisho from the intron phrase that Keith started playing, and it can not be said that the Stones in Seattle were at full throttle at this point. It is Mick who pulls such a band. This was also seen in Toronto at the end of September, which will be released at the same time, but especially at the beginning of the show, Mick is seen leading the band with confidence. From Mick’s perspective, it was expected that it would take some time for the whole band to switch on at the beginning of the tour. Thanks to Mick’s enthusiasm, from “Oh No, Not You Again”, the performance was as if the whole band had woken up, so it was surprising. As if to confirm the awesomeness of the performance here, this performance was released on the official website at the time. This song was also performed wonderfully when it was played on the B stage in Toronto, but it was even more spectacular. And it was the song that opened the latest album at the time. Just by hearing the sound of Keith hitting the guitar “Gyuin!” just before the performance started, you can imagine that a spectacular performance will start. From the switch on state, which was too obvious for a new song at the time, a great performance is mass-produced as if it were exploding. “Bitch”, which was originally at its peak several times between the 2005 and 2006 tours, is also a great performance, and Darryl Jones’ funky bass solo, which explodes in the previous “Rain Fall Down”, shows his true talent. The great appeal of this sound source is that the sound quality does not change even after the show moves to the B stage, but the high sound quality of “Get Off Of My Cloud” seems to have revived the momentum of the 60s, and the audience was very excited. And at the end of the show after “Brown Sugar”, it literally runs through with a momentum like an avalanche. Here again, Mick’s tension is high, but what is different from the beginning of the show is that the band is firmly following his tension. Well, anyway, it’s a tremendous momentum. The momentum reaches the runaway range at the Hollywood Bowl a week later, but it was this final show in October that was the ignition point. As I have written so far, there is no doubt that this is a surprising debut sound source that is impeccable in both sound quality and performance. However, while the original sound source is powerful, the bass is harsh and the performance seems distant, so it has been heavily equalized. The result is the overwhelming ease of listening this time. In other words, the sense of distance of the sound image in the original sound source was not at a “slight” level. However, by relaxing the low range, the performance was highlighted and the sense of distance was surprisingly relaxed. And the greatness of the performance comes across even more clearly… Live at Key Arena, Seattle, WA. USA 30th October 2005 Disc 1 (56:59) 1. Intro. 2. Start Me Up 3. Shattered 4. She’s So Cold 5.
