Description
Contains the Washington performance from the 1972 American tour. On this day, VGP’s title “Jack Daniel’s On Tour” was released, but the sound source recorded here is a separate monaural audience recording, and was used to supplement the latter half of All Down The Line on the same disc. This is the full length version of what was used. The sound source used for “Jack Daniel’s ~” has a very active sound image, and compared to that, this sound source, which was originally unrecorded at the beginning of the live performance and was surrounded by hall echoes, has an inferior impression. However, while the sound image was close to that one, the position of the microphone changed mid-way, which was a negative feeling, whereas this one had a sense of distance (away from the stage). It has the advantage of maintaining a stable sound image. Above all, the sound quality is much warmer than the previous sound source, and I think the sense of distance and the sound quality wrapped in echo make it easier to listen to. Furthermore, the power of the dynamic performance unique to the latter half of the tour clearly conveys a different charm from “Jack Daniel’s ~”. Although it is an incomplete recording, it is an item that can be thoroughly enjoyed as an alternative recording of the excellent sound source Washington in the latter half of the tour.
