Rolling Stones/Undercover Unreleased and Studio Demos

From the must-have label for Stones fans, this is a compilation of newly unearthed and unreleased takes from the studio sessions of the album “UNDERCOVER”. Among the demo tracks and studio outtakes of “UNDERCOVER” that have been newly unearthed in recent years, this title is the first of its kind. Tracks 1-7 are new recordings titled “Vilcho Tapes” recorded in a private studio in Paris between October and November 1982. This is a demo recording from the earliest stage of the album production, performed by only Mick, Keith and Charlie, and includes interesting tracks such as “WANNA HOLD YOU” with its harmony already perfected at this stage, a country version of “SHE WAS HOT”, a different version of “CAN’T FIND LOVE” from the previously released version, and “WHAT I AM SAYING IS TRUE” with vocals on “IN YOUR HAND”. In addition, tracks 8-15 are samples of unreleased songs from the album sessions, each about 30 seconds long, recorded in stereo. Furthermore, track 16 is an early version credited as the WYSP radio version. Track 17 is the full long version that has been omitted from DAC’s UNDERCOVER CD albums. Track 18 is a 21-minute long version that was included as a bonus in the “FOXES IN THE BOXES” series. It has not been remastered by JEMS, but has been re-recorded in its natural state without any EQ or compression processing, with only correction of a slightly faster pitch and one large dropout caused by tape deterioration from the original source.
