Description
This is the stereo version of “The Rolling Stones, NoW!”, released on February 22, 1965 as the Stones’ third album in the US. This album contains 12 songs in total, including 7 songs from No.2 (released January 15, 1965), the second album of the UK version, the US single “Heart of Stone” (T-4), the UK single “Little Red Rooster” (T-11), and two songs that appeared for the first time on this album (T-10, T-12). Not only is this album a stereo version, but the entire album is recorded in pseudo-stereo. Currently, T3, 4, and 7 are recorded in real stereo on CD. This “The Rolling Stones, Now!” is based on the UK version’s second album, but in the US, “12×5” was released as the second album (released October 19, 1964). This album is based on the UK EP “5×5”, but “No.2” and “12×5” have completely different contents, and the same photo is used for the jacket photo, so “The Rolling Stones, Now!” is the 3rd album, but in terms of content, this one could be treated as the 2nd album (in the US). However, since the release format in Japan at the time was based on the US version, old fans in Japan may be more familiar with “The Rolling Stones, Now!” (the title of the domestic version is Rolling Stones, Volume 3) when talking about the Stones’ 3rd album. Another feature of this album is that T-1, which was recorded in a version that was over 5 minutes long on “No.2”, is recorded in a version that is about 3 minutes long. Although it is pseudo-stereo, you can enjoy the stereo sound that is so difficult to tell at first listen with the sound of the original US stereo version! Taken from the original US LP (London Records, PS 420) (36:35) 1. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love 2. Down Home Girl 3. You Can’t Catch Me 4. Heart Of Stone 5. What A Shame 6. Mona (I Need You Baby) 7. Down The Road Apiece 8. Off The Hook 9. Pain In My Heart 10. Oh Baby (We Got A Good Thing Goin’) 11. Little Red Rooster 12. Surprise, Surprise
