Description

Does anyone remember that the first live performance of the 1994 “VOODOO LOUNGE” tour was officially filmed and a professional shot video was released? Of course, the video was released as a live video in St. Louis in November. However, prior to that, while the American tour was still underway, there was a video that was sold not as a live video, but as part of concert venue merchandise. That was the professional shot video that captured the live performance at Giants Stadium on August 14th. At that time, there was a strong desire for the appearance of soundboards and professional shot images, so it was surprising that professional shot images appeared with such a super fast release. However, since standard footage such as St. Louis and performances in Japan were subsequently released as live videos one after another, the Giants Stadium video was an incomplete version, and it felt like it had been forgotten. This time, for the first time, the goods video will be released on DVD. If you are a fan, you will feel nostalgic being able to see this video for the first time in a while, and if you are seeing this video for the first time with this release, you will definitely be surprised. The video was originally intended to be released quickly as merchandise rather than as a live video, so the video was cut more like a PV than a live video. It’s a very unusual video that captures the excitement of a live performance by showing the audience and audience seats between songs. Also, since it was not released on laser disc, the image quality may be slightly rough, but you can still guarantee the quality that you can watch with confidence. Even so, the video was recorded only two weeks after the tour started, so even the Stones can’t shake the hardness of their performance. However, that is what makes it so interesting to watch, and the atmosphere of the performance is completely different from the familiar footage of the Tokyo Dome performance, so I never get tired of watching it. The lack of a sense of groove in “Miss You” and “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll” (lol) is surprising, but overall it’s a neat performance with no playfulness. Moreover, in “Street Fighting Man”, there is an incident where both Mick and the band lose track of the timing to enter the last song part. Actually, this performance was often recorded without cutting… Is this just a result of the quick release of the product as “goods”? In this way, not only is it a rare professional shot footage, but it is extremely interesting to see the careful performance of the Stones at the beginning of the tour, so I recorded it on the DVD Live at Giants Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA 14th August 1994 PRO-SHOT 1.
