Description

Another special show of the 2003 LICKS JAPAN TOUR, the Yokohama Arena performance on March 12th, is recorded in full with a high-quality audience recording of the highest level from the original master. This is not the first appearance, but a remaster of the sound source that was released on CDR under the title “YOKOHAMA 20 LICKS” at the time. It is unknown how many fans still love this already released CDR title, but even if you listen to it again now in 2014, it is a pretty cool recording. That’s because the recorder is the taper of that “Orange Three”. Although it was recorded 11 years ago, the quality is considerable, and it would be a waste to bury this in the darkness of bootleg history as it is! So, we will release it as a gift at this timing! This performance is literally “arena setting”, so the first song is Street Fighting Man. If You Can’t Rock Me and Don’t Stop, played between It’s Only Rock’n Roll, are performed in Japan for the first time. Ruby Tuesday, which was played almost every day on the Steel Wheels tour, was the only performance on this day of the 2003 Japan tour, and it was arranged with Keith playing electric acoustic guitar. In addition, Loving Cup, which is typical of an arena set, was played, which greatly pleased the fans. In the second half of the show, a performance was prepared on the B-stage, and Mannish Boy, When The Whip Comes Down, and Brown Sugar were performed. For these three songs, the sound was played from a speaker hanging above the B-stage, so the sound was inevitably unclear in that part, but it was still a good enough sound to be “listened to”. Even listening to one cheer, there is no doubt that it was recorded with an advanced microphone, and the overall sound is very complete, so you can enjoy the whole picture of the show. I remember that the best recording of this day was Sylph’s “Before They Slip Away”, but please take this opportunity to enjoy the famous sound source that was quietly released behind the scenes of Sylph’s big explosion, which is truly “known only to those in the know”. (The Beatleg (vol. 35, June 2003 issue) at the time reviewed this product, saying, “The sound quality itself is the most natural and mild, pleasant to the ear, and has the least amount of ambient noise,” reminiscent of the Orange Three’s sound taste 11 years later.) I actually think it’s wonderful. Please take this opportunity to enjoy it! Live at Yokohama Arena, Yokohama, Japan 12th March 2003 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (61:44) 1.
