Description
The Stones’ March 28, 1966 and April 4, 1967 performances at the Olympia Theatre in Paris were recorded on a coupling of soundboard recordings from the broadcast masters left by the French Broadcasting Corporation. This is a valuable broadcast recording of an early concert during the Brian era, which has been released as a half-official in the past and has become difficult to obtain in recent years. It is also notable that the vocals are mixed on, which is common in broadcast recordings of the time, resulting in a much more realistic direct sound than that official live performance. They often performed during their regular tours in France, and in 1967 in particular, the band’s early simple style was replaced by Brian’s playing of various instruments, resulting in a rich variety of songs.
