Description

The three performances in Paris were a big topic because they were the final performances of the “NO FILTER” tour, but the excavation of the sound source has not progressed, and as a result, the third day’s “PARIS 2017 3RD NIGHT” is the only item from the Paris dates so far. This was also unexpected considering that it was the latest tour, but this time, the 2017 Paris show on another day will finally be released. The performance was the first stage in Paris on October 19th. It is still a fresh performance in my memory, but when it was reported that this day had started, I remember being indulged in the emotion of wondering if the “NO FILTER” tour would end with three more performances. Finally, the sound source of another day has appeared… Not only that, but the sound quality is particularly noteworthy. “PARIS 2017 3RD NIGHT”, released just a month ago, was recorded using a rare MD in 2017, so the sound image was surrounded by echo, and the sound source had a sense of undignified bass, but the first day of this time was a much clearer audience recording. Although it lacks bass a little, it is not as good as Lucca or New Munich, but the clarity is still superb. The recording quality is clear and wide, which is quite attractive. If there is one drawback, it is that the audience is noisy throughout the performance. In particular, when it comes to famous songs, there was a man who sang along with the band near the taper, but it was a blessing that he did not have a presence that would be a barrier to the performance. Rather, the enthusiastic conversation of “Next, let’s play a new blues” is amusing. After all, this is a recording of a tour in Europe. This kind of excitement is natural. Rather, the chorus of “Ole Ole, Richards” in Keith Corner is a peaceful excitement unique to Europe, and it gives you goosebumps to hear the pattern with a rich sense of realism. The excitement unique to Paris was also glimpsed in “PARIS 2017 3RD NIGHT”, but this time the sound quality is even clearer, so you can enjoy this special excitement in real life. For this release, we have applied equalization that aims to further enhance the outstanding clarity. Compared to the original sound source, the clarity has been clearly improved. The finish conveys a richer sense of realism. This is a good condition that can be fully enjoyed not only by enthusiasts but also by beginners. I think it’s worth the wait. Since it’s the final performance of the “NO FILTER” tour, the Stones’ performance is completely switched on. As was the case with Copenhagen, which was released at the same time, this day also started with a performance full of momentum. Surprisingly, in such a full-throttle mode, Ronnie’s mistakes are scattered in the first half of the show. First of all, when he returns from the interlude of “Tumbling Dice”, his guitar playing becomes suspicious. In Copenhagen, a similar mistake was seen in Keith, but it is rare for Ronnie, who played very enthusiastically at the shows every day in October. However, the performance of the Stones as a whole is very powerful, and the lack of sharpness that was present at the beginning of the tour has been completely wiped away. The voting song corner was “Let’s Spend The Night Together”, and since the previous song was “Under My Thumb”, we were able to hear a series of Stones classics from the mid-60s. It’s true that “Let’s Spend” is not an unusual repertoire, but it’s clear that it would have been a big hit if it was played in this order. The performance was smooth and had a dignified atmosphere. However, it seems that the performance was not as solid as that of “PARIS 2017 3RD NIGHT” throughout the entire show, and Keith’s corner was sagging for the first time in a long time. It makes you think of the time just after the tour started. It’s interesting because it seems fresh when you hear it at the end of the tour. In “Happy”, Ronnie’s slide guitar solo is a dangerous play, and on the other hand, in “Slipping Away”, Keith loses track of the timing to return from the interlude, making the song sound suspicious. However, the good thing about the end of the tour is that they immediately return to the Stones in good form. That was the “Midnight Rambler” of the day, and Ronnie and Charlie were very excited from the beginning. The expectation that this would be a hot performance was answered by Charlie’s marching drums, which were even more heated than in Copenhagen. What’s amazing is that not only did Charlie start to march in tune with Mick’s movements again, but it was perfectly coordinated with Keith and the development was perfectly decided. What a thrilling scene. And it’s also a big point that the sound image becomes more on and easier to hear from this song. The first day of Paris, which decorated the first day of the “NO FILTER” tour with such a powerful performance, will finally be released. With this, the final show left is the second day of Paris!
