Description

The distribution of sound sources has completely calmed down, and the release of the Stones’ No Filter Tour this year has also stopped. Even though there are other performances that haven’t been released yet…I want to listen to that day and that day too…Perhaps the thoughts of such enthusiasts got through to me, and recently an audio recording of the Miami show, which was the final day of the tour, has surfaced on the internet. He appeared on top! It took a while for the sound source to appear for the latest tour, and it seems like it’s finally here. It must have been surprising that this sound source appeared on a torrent site other than the major dime. This time’s audience recording captures the performance in a large sound image, and even though it does not reach the level of “as if it were a sound board”, there is no doubt that the quality is quite high. Among them, Mick’s singing voice has a great balance from beginning to end, and Keith’s guitar, which shows a tremendous presence depending on the song, is also powerful enough. As with the Stones show in America, the excitement of the surrounding audience was also picked up with a good balance, but this is actually important. Because Miami is the last day of the tour. It is also a document of the 2019 edition of No Filter’s US tour Chiakiraku, which started in June. However, wouldn’t it be unpleasant if the people around you were quiet, or there was no excitement, and the reactions were indifferent? Since it’s the last day of the tour, I’d rather enjoy the excitement and sense of being there. Of course, the balance should not be such that it interferes with the performance. However, don’t worry, the performance is captured perfectly with a large sound image, more than the excitement unique to the last day of the tour. In addition, the Odins recording that appeared this time has sufficient clarity. The only downside is that the low range is generally unsatisfactory. Even if it stays as it is, Stones maniacs may not feel unsatisfied when listening to it because Keith and Ronnie’s guitars are captured in a good balance. However, if the low range is weak, it will be unsatisfactory as a live document. Therefore, for this release, the bass is enhanced by equalization. Unlike old analog recordings, modern digital audiences can easily compensate for the range of the sound source with such equalization. As a result, the balance as live music has become much better, and it has finally been reborn as an upper version that can be listened to with peace of mind. The taper and surrounding area probably moved as the finale “Satisfaction” approached the end, and there was a limit to adjustment only in the part where the sound image became unstable, but other than that, it was an exciting final day of the tour. It’s a great finish that makes you feel full. And since it was the last day of the tour, the Stones’ performance was simply amazing. From the opening song, “Jumping Jack Flash,” the album is full of energy. The scene where Mick gives words of praise to the tour crew at the beginning of the live show (partly because the tour was postponed due to his own health issues) is also unique to the last day of the tour. Their performance cannot be bad under these circumstances, but “Out Of Control” can be called the first masterpiece at Chiakiraku Miami. At this point, as soon as Mick starts humming, the audience joins in a chorus of humming, a very moving scene. Mick was overjoyed by this, so he stopped humming himself and left most of the humming to the audience, and it was the beginning of an outstanding performance in which he hummed more than usual. Speaking of Babylon-related choral songs, “Saint Of Me” has been at the top since the beginning, and the spontaneous humming that suddenly occurred in Miami this time is truly refreshing. Since such a phenomenon had never occurred in Houston, where the same song was played before, it would be an even more moving scene. It is clear that the morale of the Stones has improved due to this excitement, and the next “Under My Thumb” is another great performance. This is one of the 1960s repertoires that has been frequently played live in recent years, and I think it’s one of the best. “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” is an incident that occurred as if there was a surplus of momentum among these Stones who were in excellent condition. Keith started playing an unnecessary stroke in the middle of the intro and started to get out of sync with Charlie, and when Mick started singing in this unstable situation, it finally didn’t fit. Is it like a new live arrangement? (lol) At the end of the first part, Chuck and Charlie somehow come to terms and things go back to normal. I have no choice but to say that Chuck’s ability to save the day is truly admirable. What followed was a series of powerful performances, perfect for summarizing the 2019 Stones Live. For example, the B stage “Dead Flowers” feels like it’s not slowing down and it’s fun. And while listening to “Midnight Rambler”, which was the best performance in the second half of the live performance, I can’t help but feel that the Stones are still good. In this song, Keith and Charlie are at full throttle as usual, but from the beginning Ronnie utters a sharp phrase and cuts into the two, which is intense. Looking back, there is no doubt that the postponement of the tour due to Mick’s poor health boosted the group’s morale, and as a result, I think this No Filter was the best tour since 2017. An audience album that captures the final day with ideal high-quality sound will finally appear. Dear enthusiasts, thank you for waiting!
