Description
To commemorate the release of the Rolling Stones’ 1976 Knebworth concert, also known as “HOT AUGUST NIGHT,” which has been carefully resurrected on CD by “GRAF ZEPPELIN,” we have also prepared a video of the concert. Originally, this footage was filmed by the BBC and then compiled into a 50-minute piece for television broadcast, and it was one of the classic live performances of the Stones from the VHS era. With the advent of the DVD era, the quality of this footage has improved dramatically, and this time we have included a version that the familiar Krw_co released on his YouTube account. The leaked multi-track recording of “HOT AUGUST NIGHT,” which will be released as a stunning reissue from analog LP this time, was recorded up to the middle of the live performance, but this video mainly records the second half of the live performance, so it is not to be missed that it is a wonderful complement to the LP sound source. In addition, the audio is a mono sound board via the PA out via the video, so it is interesting that the feel of the sound is completely different from the stereo multi-track “HOT AUGUST NIGHT.” Thanks to this, the sound from this video was even used in the second half of the live performance of the VGP version “HOT AUGUST NIGHT”. And yet, the howling sound during the performance of “Little Red Rooster” played in the first half of the live performance is the same as in “HOT AUGUST NIGHT”, and the video even captures Mick’s shocked expression. Also, there are probably many enthusiasts who mistakenly think that the cover of the LP “HOT AUGUST NIGHT” is Knebworth, but the image is a stage photo from the first half of the European tour a few months ago when Mick was wearing a samba costume, and this video also confirms that Mick was wearing a leather jacket on the day. And from this video, one song, “Wild Horses”, has been released on the Stones’ official YouTube account, and this version does not reach this quality as expected. Still, it is certain that the image quality is good enough, so don’t miss it as a professional shot video that perfectly complements the part of this LP reprint “HOT AUGUST NIGHT”!
