Description
Despite being the latest tour of 2017, “NO FILTER” has not been blessed with the distribution of sound sources as expected. A month and a half has passed since the end of the tour, but the release of all the performances has not yet been realized. In fact, the release of the familiar yellow jacket has stopped after “PARIS 2017 3RD NIGHT”. It has become a situation that is in stark contrast to the “ZIP CODE” tour in 2015, where famous sound sources came out one after another. In the meantime, there has been a gap, but this week, for the first time in a while, items that will fill the gaps of the “NO FILTER” tour will appear. The first one to introduce is Copenhagen on October 3rd. However, this sound source is an audience recording of not very good quality. It is a sound image that can be inferred from a position far away from the speakers of the venue. Because of this, the bass range is strong, and it feels like the sound image of the performance has been pushed further back. In some places, the limiter is activated and the edge of the performance is retracted. The finishing touch was the monaural sound quality, which was rare in 2017. Although this is a Copenhagen audience recording that has suffered a triple whammy, the decision was made to release it anyway, as it is a performance that has not yet been released since this tour. So, for the release, thorough equalization was carried out. It was reborn into a state that can be listened to carefully, incomparable to the original sound source. After all, the biggest stress factor in listening with this sound source was the low range, which was too strong. By suppressing this with equalization, the sound image, which had been pushed to the back, was pushed forward and regained its presence. At this point, it is already much easier to listen to than the original sound source, and has evolved into an upper version that is sure to surprise any enthusiast who has heard the original state. Furthermore, the volume fluctuation due to the limiter operation is adjusted as much as possible. The recording quality that was not like 2017 in the original sound source was eliminated at once! Of course, as you can see from the problems I’ve mentioned so far, it’s not the quality level of Hamburg or Lucca. In that respect, it’s true that this is the most mania-oriented sound source in this “NO FILTER”. Also, since it’s mono sound quality, it’s definitely a recording state that’s overwhelmingly more enjoyable when played from speakers than headphones. However, the equalization applied for this release has had a tremendous effect, so if you play it from speakers first, you should be able to enjoy it with a good feeling combined with the realism. Although the “NO FILTER” tour was a slow start that made maniacs anxious, Copenhagen was a performance in October, so the Stones, who had been getting better since Zurich, were captured, and in terms of performance, they performed at full throttle from the opening. In fact, Keith made a simple mistake due to his excess momentum in “Sympathy For The Devil”, and even in “Under My Thumb”, he had a different configuration incident. However, the good thing about the October show is that such happenings do not make us nervous as much as they did at the beginning of the tour. As for Keith’s mistakes, they are rather charming. As proof of this, the performance of “Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo”, the highlight of the day’s repertoire, is simply amazing. Although it has been played from time to time in recent years, here we hear a wild performance that is reminiscent of the 70s. Even more amazing was “Midnight Rambler”. Charlie responded to Mick heading to the center of the stage by switching to march-style drumming, and the performance became incandescent at once. The thrilling development was so impressive that I couldn’t help but worry about what I would do if the march-style continued and the performance could not be restored. In this sound source, the excitement of the female fans around the taper is noticeable everywhere, but when the performance of “Street Fighting Man”, which has regained its momentum compared to the beginning of the tour, started to get exciting, I couldn’t help but scream. However, the man who couldn’t stand the screams she made during the performance got angry (laughs). It’s certainly an unpleasant scene, but it’s also true that the excitement of the Stones’ performance was considerable, and it was an incident that made sense to them to get excited. And as I said at the beginning of this article, it can be said that in terms of sound quality, it’s a release for enthusiasts. Nevertheless, I would like you to pay attention to the upper feeling that is dramatically easier to hear from the original sound source. After all, it has been reborn into a sound quality that can be heard. The Stones’ performance is in top form, as it seems to be a stage after October of the “NO FILTER” tour. Please play it loudly from the speakers and enjoy the momentum. This item filled the gap in the latest tour items!
