Description
This is a reissue of the 2-LP “I THINK IT’S GONNA RAIN AGAIN TONIGHT” which contains live recordings from the 1973 Australian tour. The original LP contains the official singles Beast of Burden, Run Rudolph Run, and The Harder They Come on side D, but these are not included on this release. This take was made based on a take that was ripped from a record by a fan and released on the Internet, with some phase and bandwidth adjustments, pitch correction, and scratch removal. Disc 1 contains a good audience recording of the second day of the 2 consecutive Adelaide performances in 1973, recorded on sides A to C of the record. To date, the only take of this performance is the 2-LP “I THINK IT’S GONNA RAIN AGAIN TONIGHT”, and the tape source does not seem to be in circulation, and the related CD seems to be recorded from this analog record. This is a rare stereo recording for this period, and although it gives the impression of being far from the stage and does not have much stereo separation, it is very stable and has depth, making it easy to listen to. The shortcoming of this sound source is the first song, Brown Sugar, and the analog noise in the right channel caused by the microphone touching it around 40 seconds after becoming a star, but by using the problem-free left channel and converting it to mono, it is somewhat easier to listen to. Disc 2 contains the Brisbane performance on February 14th, the first day of the Australian tour, which was recorded on side D of the record. Compared to 71 minutes for Adelaide, Brisbane is a short performance with 3 songs and 11 minutes (Love In Vain is a cut-out that was not collected in court), but the sound quality is also good. There is also a CD with the full length, but since this is a reprint of the analog version, it is recorded as it is for about 11 minutes. The jacket was also made to imitate the original. This is a recommended title with good sound quality and content.
