Roger Waters,Eric Clapton Roger Waters/Netherlands 1984

In 1983, Clapton joined Waters as a member, and the album “Pros and Cons of Hitch-Hiking” was met with mixed reviews when it was released. After the album was released, Clapton accompanied Waters on a tour of the US and Europe. This is a direct and complete recording of the Rotterdam performance in the Netherlands on June 19th from the 1984 Euro tour, taken directly from the master tapes owned by Taper, which have recently appeared. The quality of the recording is excellent for an audience recording from that time, and it is a valuable first-time excavation source that has hardly been distributed until now. As is well known, the show was a complete reproduction of the album in the first part, which was Floyd classics, and in the second part, which effectively used the screen, and the best part of the show was Clapton playing Floyd numbers throughout the entire album, which was said to be impossible even at the time. The opening song “Sunshine Hymn” starts with Mel Collins’ sax solo, followed by Clapton’s playing with a completely different approach from Gilmour, and then he plays a number of Floyd classics with cutting solos that are unimaginable now. In addition, the encore “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse”, which were not performed on some days, were also performed on this day, and the way they were played with a more evolved and technically sophisticated arrangement in the original performance style was so fresh. For Floyd fans as well as Clapton fans, this was the most unique performance in his long career, so there are only a limited number of valuable recordings, making it a must-listen for both fans.
