“THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LIVE” from 2006 to 2008, when Roger Waters’ version of “Madness” became a hot topic. Introducing the finest footage that conveys the scene that could not be experienced in Japan. This work was filmed at the “February 12, 2007: Shanghai” performance. It is a spectacular audience shot that allows you to witness the whole story. “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LIVE” is also a time when we have few opportunities to handle it at our store, so let’s check out the show’s position from the panoramic view here. June 2nd – July 16th, 2006: Europe #1 (21 performances) September 6th – October 12th: North America #1 (21 performances) January 25th – February 9th, 2007 : Oceania (8 performances) ・February 12th-21st: Asia (4 performances) ←★Here★ ・March 2nd-24th: South America (10 performances) ・April 11th-May 14th: Europe #2 (19 performances) / May 18th – July 14th: North America #2 (27 performances) 2008 / April 27th – May 4th: North America #3 (4 performances) / May 9th – June 6th: Europe #3 (7 performances) This is the whole picture of “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LIVE”. Although the Japan performance did not materialize, it was a big project that took two whole years to conquer four continents. The “Asia” leg covers China, India, and the Middle East. To date, Roger has only performed in China in two performances in 2007, and the Shanghai performance of this work was the first concert. This work, taken at such a show, is a wonderful audience shot with a spectacular view that looks just like a picture. The photo was taken from a little to the left of the stage, but it was probably the front seat in the stands. There were no obstructions, and the stage was at about the same eye level as the members, and only the stage occupied the field of view. If you pull back as hard as you can, you’ll notice that it’s a little far away, but at the same time, the image production on the giant screen is perfect. It is a video that allows you to enjoy the spectacular view from the special seats. The bold zoom and wonderful sound offset that sense of distance. It’s not exactly a professional shot, but the zoom fills the screen with Roger’s whole body, capturing all the highlights on the stage, and the camera work is slow and calm, making it easy to see. And audio. Once again, the clarity with no obstructions is exquisite, and despite the large household of 11 people, you can enjoy the beautiful notes spun by each member and the ensemble as a whole. The Shanghai audience seemed to be overwhelmed by the first real progressive rock they had ever seen, and listened quietly, giving a big round of applause between songs. As mentioned above, there was no performance in Japan, but if it had happened, it would have been like this… The sense of realism that makes you fantasize about it is wonderful. Also, the subtitles are interesting. Each song has a title caption (for some reason, it’s a rainbow-colored design), but even more than that, the lyrics and monologue are all displayed. Of course, it was added by overseas enthusiasts on their own, but they probably wanted to take the perfect visual beauty to an even higher level. It’s also a video work whose basic quality is so outstanding that it’s easy to see why you’d want to put so much effort into it. What is depicted with such quality is “a great masterpiece + α that you can see with your eyes.” The full performance of “Madness” became a hot topic on the tour, but of course it’s not just that, you can’t miss the songs played before and after the reenactment. This is a good opportunity, so let’s organize the contents here. Part 1/Mystery: Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun・Flame: Shine On You Crazy Diamond/Have A Cigar/Wish You Were Here・Animals: Sheep (★)・The Wall: In The Flesh/Mother・Final Cut: Southampton Dock/The Fletcher Memorial Home (★)・Death Game: Perfect Sense・Others: Leaving Beirut (★) Part 2・Madness: Speak To Me/Breathe/On The Run (★)/Time/Breathe (Reprise)/The Great Gig In The Sky/Money/Us And Them/Any Color You Like(★)/Brain Damage/Eclipse Encore The Wall: The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall Part 2/ Vera/Bring The Boys Back Home/Comfortably Numb *Note: Numbers marked with a ★ were played only on this tour. …and it looks like this. His solo repertoire is limited to the singles “Leaving Beirut” released in 2004 and “Perfect Sense” from “Shimetsu Yugi,” and all other FLOYD numbers. “The Wall” numbers were lined up for the opening and encore, and various famous songs were performed in between. The real pleasure of “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LIVE” is that you can see famous songs such as “Sheep”, “The Fletcher Memorial Home”, and even “On The Run” and “Any Color You Like” in Roger’s solo. Since “IN THE FLESH”, Roger has left a performance piece on every large-scale tour, but “THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON LIVE” has not been realized even though there were rumors that it would be made into a work. This is a video work that allows you to experience such a valuable tour from a special seat. This is a piece that can be called Roger’s version of “PULSE,” which depicts “madness” with a production that is completely different from FLOYD.
