“OAKLAND 2017” is a new masterpiece born from “US + THEM TOUR”. The more wonderful the sound, the more you will be interested in the “scenery” that spreads beyond it. We have prepared a collection of audience footage from the day. This work is a combination of various audience shots that erupted after the live show. Approximately five cameras were used to recreate most of the show. “Most” does not mean “full”. This is an incomplete version of the four songs “When We Were Young”, “Deja Vu”, “The Last Refugee”, and “Us and Them”. In this day and age when anyone can easily shoot, countless pieces of footage appear, but each one is only shot when the photographer thinks “I want to leave this song behind!”. Therefore, it is inevitable that the number of PINK FLOYD numbers will be biased, and there will be fewer new songs. And the fewer the photographers, the smaller the pyramid of quality will be, and the lower the apex will be. Of course, if you record everything, it is not impossible to get a complete version of the video, but this work is focused on “quality” and prioritizes the perfection that allows you to immerse yourself in the show to your heart’s content. It is composed of only powerful images. That is why the quality of this work is special. Since five cameras are used, it is not possible to say that the position and viewpoint are “XX!” in one word, but the one thing that remains unchanged is the “image quality”. All of them are beautiful images that have been carefully selected. And the other point is the screen. As we have already reported on several video works, the more skilled the photographer, the more they want to directly photograph the highlights. However, in this work, we have deliberately selected images that are mainly screen-based, and we have created a finish that allows you to witness a wide variety of video productions. Numerous CGs, dancing laser beams, the huge Battersea Power Station, and falling confetti… This is a scene that has been confirmed in previous videos, but it is approaching with a sense of hugeness centered on the distant view. Together with its clear image quality, it is a huge picture scroll that we would like you to see on as large a screen as possible. The world of video art that is as good as Hollywood’s big movies.
