Description

“K.A.O.S. ON THE ROAD” completes on stage a story that had to be shortened due to the wishes of the record company. Introducing a new excavation master who can experience the whole story. This work includes “September 20, 1987 Inglewood Performance”. This is the best audience recording. Records of this show have been known for a long time, but this work is a new master that was discovered only recently. This is the latest edition that has been directly digitized from the original cassette. Before we look at the quality, first of all, the position of the show. Let’s take a look back at the tour overview that made the world aware of “The Story of Billy, the Psychic Boy,” which was too compressed and difficult to understand in the album. [“RADIO K.A.O.S.” released on June 15th]・August 14th-September 29th: North America #1 (26 performances) ←★Here★・November 3rd-16th: North America #2 (9 performances)・November 21st + 22nd: London (2 performances) This is the whole picture of “K.A.O.S. ON THE ROAD”. It is roughly divided into two parts: summer and autumn, but the Inglewood performance of this work is the summer version. This was the 22nd concert at the end of “North America #1”. This work that recorded such a show is truly the best audience recording. It is completely different from conventionally known recordings, and the core is strong and the atmosphere is wonderfully clear. Although the lively applause and vocal growth give the impression of an audience, the performance sound is so powerful that you don’t feel the distance. The snare, which tends to be sparse, has a solid density, and the deep bass is very powerful. Moreover, the outline is vivid. Each instrument is clear down to the last note, and even when the sounds played by the eight people on stage overlap, they never mix. DJ Jim Rudd’s every word is super clear, and the luster of the guitar and the metallic luster of the horn are beautiful. The fact is that it was recorded 32 years ago, but its freshness and wonderful sense of separation are just like the latest digital recordings of today… No, it is a famous recording with a direct feeling that is rare even by modern standards. Moreover, this work is the highest version of the newly discovered master refined through meticulous mastering. Of course, the beautiful sound unique to Omoto Master was so wonderful that there was no room for modification, but I corrected the fine noise processing and the pitch that was significantly out of order. We have created the ultimate version. What is depicted with that sound is a full show that expands on “RADIO K.A.O.S.”, which was lacking in words, and also includes a large number of PINK FLOYD’s famous songs. When it comes to concept shows by Roger and FLOYD, the album reproduction part and the greatest hits are often separated, but “K.A.O.S. ON THE ROAD” is not a parallel but a fusion. Taking advantage of the story setting of a radio station, the style was to perform a mix of new songs and FLOYD numbers. Let’s organize the contents here. ●PINK FLOYD (18 songs)・Atomic Heart Mother: If・Madness: Money/Brain Damage/Eclipse・Flame: Welcome To The Machine/Have A Cigar/Wish You Were Here・Animals: Pigs (Three Different Ones)・The・Wall: In The Flesh/Mother/Another Brick In The Wall Part 1/The Happiest Days Of Our Lives/Another Brick In The Wall Part 2/Nobody Home/Outside The Wall Final Cut: Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert/ Southampton Dock/Not Now John ●Solo (12 songs)・Pros and cons of Hitchhiking: Every Stranger’s Eyes・RADIO K.A.O.S.:Radio Waves/Who Needs Information/Me Or Him/The Powers That Be/Sunset Strip/Home/Four Minutes/The Tide Is Turning・Single: Molly’s Song/Going To Live In L.A. ●Other・Tempted (SQUEEZE: Paul Carrack’s singing)…and it goes like this. In addition to this, the story is complemented by DJ Jim’s narration, SE, and “Arnold Layne” played in the video, but the live music is as above. The core of the album is of course “RADIO K.A.O.S.”, and in addition to playing all the songs, it is an expanded version that also includes “Going To Live In L.A.”, which was not included in the album, and “Molly’s Song”, which did not have a studio version. Although it is mixed with other songs, it is scattered throughout the show in the same order as the album, forming the framework of the whole. Moreover, it is valuable. Only “The Powers That Be” was also performed in 1999, but other than that, all are rare songs that were only played on this tour. And don’t miss listening to the FLOYD number that is sandwiched in between. “Not Now John” from “Final Cut” can only be heard on this tour, and “If” from “Atom Heart Mother” has not been played since. Furthermore, “Outside The Wall” is also an extended version of about 4 minutes, and it is an arrangement that could only be heard at the site of this tour until “THE WALL LIVE” 23 years later. “RADIO K.A.O.S.” was a masterpiece by the concept king Roger Waters, but it was not as good as “Depression” commercially, so it became a part of history. This is a live album where you can fully experience the stage version of the story, which was incomplete due to the record company’s insistence on “one LP”, and has been brought to full bloom. The finest on-site sound revived with original cassettes and precise mastering. (Remaster Memo)) ★ Corrected the pitch which is about 15-20% higher than a semitone.
