Description
From the second Japan tour accompanying “Foolish Behaviour” in 1981, the performance on April 27th, the first day of the Budokan, was recorded in a high-quality audience recording using the original master cassette directly. At the height of their popularity, they performed two live shows each in Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka, and this performance was later aired on TV, but this first performance is a valuable live recording that has not been distributed until now. The sound quality is simply excellent, and Rod’s vocals, the performance of the backing members, and the sound balance are perfect, and all the musical sounds, including the bass drum recorded with a tight sound, the piano and saxophone that effectively color the whole, are recorded with a sound with excellent separation. And from the light-hearted start, the dynamic band ensemble of You’re In My Heart and I Don’t Want To Be Right, and Rod’s emotional vocals are overwhelming. Carmine Appice’s drum solo in “I’m Losing You” is also very powerful, and the chorus in the venue for “Oh God, I Wish I Was Home Tonight” has a great atmosphere. Although there is a cut at the end, this second visit to Japan is also the second visit of a world-famous superstar, so the excitement at the time was tremendous, and the performance is even more scaled up than the last time, so it’s a gorgeous set that you should definitely check out.
