Description

Rod Stewart broke new ground in the “TONIGHT I’M YOURS” era. The official video is reprinted in the highest quality ever. The video work is “TONIGHT HE’S YOURS LIVE AT THE L.A. FORUM”, a multi-camera pro shot of “December 19, 1981 Los Angeles Performance”. Speaking of 1981, the second performance in Japan is also memorable, but this work is one act of the next tour “WORTH LEAVIN’ HOME FOR TOUR 1981-1982”. First of all, let’s check the position of the show from the schedule at that time. ●1981《“TONIGHT I’M YOURS” released on November 6th》・November 11th-December 19th: North America #1 (22 performances)←★Here★●1982・January 10th-February 3rd: North America #2 (13 performances) February 17th – April 9th: North America #3 (28 performances) [“ABSOLUTELY LIVE” released on November 6th] This is a panoramic view of “WORTH LEAVIN’ HOME FOR TOUR” . All shows were in North America, and six months later, his first solo live album “ABSOLUTELY LIVE” was released. The Los Angeles performance of this work is the first half of that period. It was a concert that was the final performance of “North America #1”. Such a show was officially filmed and released as a video work in 1983. However, video works from that time were often out of print soon. Since then, it has not been made into a DVD and is now a fantasy. This work is a reprint of such a fantastic work in the highest quality ever. Using mint-quality laser discs owned by Coremania, we commissioned an overseas manufacturer specializing in analog video to digitize them. From source selection to equipment and environment, every effort has been made to create a DVD. The phantom images that are brought back to life are truly exquisite. It is natural that it is official grade, but this work is more than that. Our store has archived many video works using the same process, but this work is of the highest quality among the collection. In the first place, laser discs have higher resolution than VHS, and their storage stability is also far superior. Due to its structure, there is no tape twisting and no white line noise. Its characteristics have been proven in previous archives, but the coloring of this work is amazing, probably because the original shooting is outstanding. From the beginning of the performance, Rod appears in a glittery pink jacket that is so dazzling that it almost stains his eyes, and the shine of the wrinkles is very clear. What is surprising is that the shine does not fade at all. In the first place, pink tends to bleed, but whether it shines with glitter, repeats intense action, or is backlit by a spotlight, it does not bleed. It does not disturb the slim silhouette in the slightest. The show drawn with such top quality is also the best. The three songs selected each, “TONIGHT I’M YOURS” and “FOOLISH BEHAVIOUR”, are the main focus, but they are only 1/3 of the total. The rest of the album is full of representative songs that sum up the 70’s. The most eye-catching song among them is JEFF BECK GROUP’s “Rock My Plimsoul.” The number revived from this tour and was sung in the early 80’s (after co-starring with Jeff again in “People Get Ready”, it disappeared as if being replaced). The Beatles’ “Get Back” and “Hot Legs” that follow “Rock My Plimsoul” are the biggest highlights of this work. Tina Turner appears as a guest here. The scene where she appears from the audience seat surrounded by guards is also amazing, moving around violently in a gold dress, sometimes staring at each other with Rod, sometimes sharing the microphone. Speaking of “Rock My Plimsoul” and co-starring with Tina, I was able to hear it on “ABSOLUTELY LIVE” which was close to the release date (the co-starring song there was “Stay with Me”), but the scene was even more gorgeous. You can witness it at the highest quality ever. The middle three songs that follow “Rock My Plimsoul” are definitely the highlights of this work. It reminds me of “ABSOLUTELY LIVE” so I thought it was a video version of that, but it’s actually not. This work includes a total of 17 songs, but only 10 of them overlap. “Gi’ Me Wings”, “Get Back”, “(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want To Be Right”, “Tora, Tora, Tora (Out With The Boys)”, “I Was” that cannot be heard on “ABSOLUTELY LIVE” You can also enjoy songs such as “Only Joking”, “You Wear It Well”, and “The Wild Side Of Life”. Particularly valuable is “Tora, Tora, Tora (Out With The Boys).” Although it was cut as a single the following year in 1982, only “WORTH LEAVIN’ HOME FOR TOUR” was played, and that number of times can be counted on one hand. You can enjoy even such rare songs with the highest quality ever. This is an official treasure that has been revived with exceptional visual beauty in the laser disc reprint series. A masterpiece of video work where you can thoroughly enjoy the gorgeous set list and co-starring with Tina. The highest peak version ever.
