Description
Robert Plant has formed a new band called Saving Grace as a new project, and has been touring since 2023. The live performance at the Palladium in London on March 17th from the 2024 UK tour was recorded in full for 1 hour and 28 minutes from the digital audience master released by Taper. First of all, this band is centered around female accordion player Susie Dearn, and covers traditional folk that Plant likes, so the opening starts with “Gospel Plow”, which Dylan also covered on his first album. The next song is “The Cuckoo”, which Dylan also sang on the recently released definitive version of “THE COMPLETE GASLIGHT TAPES 1962”, and the selection continues with some cool numbers. After that, while traditional numbers were performed one after another, it was also a point that they played more ZEP numbers than the duo with Alison Krauss, with arrangements such as “Friends” being close to the original, and “The Rain Song” also having a wonderful straightforward arrangement, and even a scene where they asked the audience to clap along happily when “Four Sticks” started to be played. And the last song was a cappella of “And We Bid You Goodnight”, which is also known as a cover of the Grateful Dead, which was a great way to close the show. In addition, Plant’s style of singing while playing the bass was a new pattern, and the stage, which was written with an acoustic sound, was reproduced here in the best quality.
