Description
In 1985, Robert Plant was solidifying his footing as a solo artist with four consecutive hits, including THE HONEYDRIPPERS. Two original recordings by the prestigious “Kinney” that conveys the scene will be released at the same time. The second part of this work includes “July 23, 1985 East Rutherford Performance”. This is the first audience recording where you can experience the best of a valuable full show with Jimmy Page and other gorgeous guests. Speaking of Plant in 1985, the event of the century “LIVE AID” is also memorable, but at the same time it was also a part of “SHAKEN AND STIRRED TOUR”. In order to understand the situation, let’s look back at the show’s position from the schedule at that time. ・January 18th: Monmouth performance [“SHAKEN ‘N’ STIRRED” released on May 20th] ・June 10th – July 12th: North America #1 (23 performances) ・July 13th: LIVE AID performance ・July 15th – August 5th: North America #2 (14 performances) ←★Coco★・September 8th + 10th: UK (2 performances) This is Robert Plant in 1985. For convenience, it has been divided into “North America #1” and “North America #2,” but it is basically a continuous US tour. The simultaneously released sister work “L.A. FORUM 1985” was the record of “North America #1”, but the East Rutherford performance of this work was the 6th concert of “North America #2”. The point of this work is to co-star with Page, but this work was the stage 10 days after the encounter at “LIVE AID”. This work, which records such a show, is a truly exquisite real audience. As a matter of fact, no recording of this show has been known until now, and this work will be released for the first time. The preciousness alone is heart-warming, but the quality is more than that. After all, this work is a collection of the prestigious “Kinney” that Japan is proud of, and it is made into a CD directly from its original cassette. The sound is simply hot and beautiful. Actually, it is a little far away, but the sound is very neat. Kinney is the type who pursues the beauty unique to the audience rather than the direct feeling of a sound board, but this work also has that individuality, and the performance and singing voice penetrate the center of the shining atmosphere. The sound that rises from the core like an aura adds depth and dynamism. Particularly wonderful is Plant’s vocals. He was 36 years old at the time, and his singing voice still has a lot of strength and luster. It is coated with a beautiful sound, and while it is sexy, it also has the illusion of dominating the space. What is depicted with such a sound is a valuable full show in which luxurious guests also appear. Although the date is close to “L.A. FORUM 1985” which was released at the same time, the set is quite different due to the inclusion of co-starring songs. Let’s compare and organize them here. PICTURES AT ELEVEN (4 songs ・Pledge Pin/Burning Down One Side/Slow Dancer/Like I’ve Never Been Gone (★) THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS (5 songs) ・In The Mood/Thru’ With The Two Step/Messin’ With The Mekon/Other Arms/Big Log THE HONEYDRIPPERS: VOLUME ONE (3 songs)・Rockin’ At Midnight/Young Boy Blues/Sea Of Love SHAKEN ‘N’ STIRRED (3 songs)・Pink And Black/Little By Little/Too Loud Others (5 songs)・(Every Time I Hear) That Mellow Saxophone・Guest co-stars: Honey Hush (Brian Setzer & Paul Shaffer) / Slow Blues (Jimmy Page: ★) / Treat Her Right (Jimmy Page: ★)・Unidentified female singer: Unknown Song *Note: Songs marked with a ★ cannot be heard on the simultaneously released “L.A. FORUM 1985″… In fact, the opening act of Kinney Master is an unidentified female singer.Although there is no record of an opening act in existing materials, it was recorded completely seamlessly before the plant edition, and it was the opening act on that day. There’s no doubt about it. What’s even more mysterious is that this female singer is extremely popular. I wonder if she’s famous in East Rutherford… Next, a selection of Plant’s early solo performances will begin. Also, in the second half there is a “THE HONEYDRIPPERS” corner, which is the standard of “SHAKEN AND STIRRED TOUR”, but there are fewer new songs from “SHAKEN ‘N’ STIRRED”, and “Like I’ve Never Been Gone” is included instead. In addition, there are three gorgeous co-stars at the end. First up is Big Joe Turner’s standard “Honey Hush.” In addition to Paul Schaefer, who is also a member of THE HONEYDRIPPERS, Brian Setzer also appears.・He excited the venue with his famous blues songs. This alone was a great excitement, but after that, the MC touched the hearts of the whole venue. When Plant calls “Jimmy Page!”, a tremendous scream breaks out, and each voice turns into a scream. The loud cheers coming from far and wide were as powerful as a tsunami, and the spectators nearby were clearly out of control. This work is a great recording of both the performance and the singing voice, but the “Slow Blues” that starts here is about to be erased. I performed with Page on two songs, “Slow Blues” and Roy Head’s “Treat Her Right,” but if I had performed this as a ZEP number, I think there would have been a lot of people fainting… Such an intense scene. It is a real document that is thrown into the middle of the world. This is a shocking first live album in which the prestigious Kinney vacuum-packed the scene of his precious collaboration with Page. To be honest, despite this valuable sound source, it was introduced by Uxbridge because of the tremendous excitement. Moreover, it will be a huge eruption with Page co-starring, which is the biggest listening point. Of course, it’s not that the recording is bad. The enthusiasm caused by Page’s co-starring was so great that even the prestigious Kinney misread it. Rather, the splendor of the beautiful performance sound even in the excitement, and the delicate neatness even in the loud cheers… Although it cannot be said to be for everyone, it is a masterpiece recording that will definitely come to those who have accumulated experience.
