Description
Most of Robert Plant’s first performances in Japan were released at our store with surprisingly high sound quality, and even the soundboard recording title “NEVER BEEN GONE” was unearthed at Osaka Festival Hall on February 20th. . However, after the Japanese performance, Plant and the band were performing live in Hong Kong. It is a surprisingly unknown fact that this was the conclusion of the “THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS” tour that started the previous summer. This time, we discovered the audience recording of a live performance that had been overlooked, with some sites describing February 26th at Nakano Sunplaza as if it were the last day of the tour! In the first place, Led Zeppelin’s performance in Hong Kong never materialized, and the only story left behind was that they went to Hong Kong to play during a break in their schedule for a performance in Japan in 1972. That’s why the excitement here is so intense that it’s so spectacular. However, ZEP’s influence is not as great as in Japan, and the happy sense of presence that welcomes the live performances of big artists is unique even among the sound sources of this tour, even if it is not a Japanese performance. However, even amid such intense excitement, there are no scenes that make viewing stressful, and rather than being drowned out by such excitement, it is a wonderful recording that allows you to enjoy the performance of the plant and the band with an even more on-the-ground sound image. Although it is not as high quality as the plant’s first Japan title group that we have released, it is definitely a superb sound source that captures both the excitement and the performance with plenty of power. In fact, the excitement was completely different from the Japan performance, where the audience had a feeling of “ZEP’s return” to a greater or lesser degree, and in response, the performance, which seemed to be the last day of the tour, was full-throttle, and I can assure you that it is one of the best performances of this tour. Some of you may have experienced the content of the show becoming more and more fulfilling as the stages in Japan are repeated with our release. Especially at the end of the tour when UXBRIDGE’s “FAITHFULLY YOURS” was recorded, Plant also performed a very relaxed and wonderful stage, but I can imagine that this Hong Kong live added an intense excitement to it. Can I get it? After all, even the count when starting “Pledge Pin” and “Messin’ With The Mekon” has the audience singing along, which conveys the honest emotion of the Hong Kong audience who witnessed the live plant. In front of such excitement, Plant will be able to listen to the passionate singing of his voice as much as possible everywhere. The composition of this tour is mostly medium tempo and slow numbers, and it appears that Plant is aiming to push out a different side as a singer from the ZEP era. Furthermore, the great appeal of his solo was that he created the tight rock style of the Early Eighties with gimmicky arrangements like “Horizontal Departure.” On the other hand, it’s funny to see that Plant shows off his usual ZEP habit of screaming “Gooood Evening!”, but on this day, he got so excited that he asked the audience to pose for an encore, and Seino I was surprised to see that they even showed the excitement pattern of ZEP’s 80th European tour, saying “Thank you!”. For this fan, the grinning scene is proof that he was enjoying the live performance that much. And in the encore, he even started an improvisational blues called “Blues In Hong Kong” (which Plant calls), but this is also a tremendous enthusiastic performance. From there, Roy Head’s cover “Treat Her Right”, which was also heard at the encore of Hammersmith in 1983 and “FAITHFULLY YOURS” at Sun Plaza on the 23rd, also has a tremendous plant singing. The final day of the fantastic tour, where such excitement and passionate performances were unfolded, has finally been decided to be released!
