Description

Robert Plant began his first solo tour in 1983 with his second solo album, “THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS”. A leaked soundboard album that lets you enjoy the live performance is now available. This work records the “November 28, 1983 Newcastle upon Tyne performance”. This is a stereo soundboard recording. Speaking of the “PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS Tour”, it is also memorable for the large-scale Japan tour that was realized. First of all, let’s look back on the schedule at that time and check the show’s position. June 22, 1983: Recorded for The Tube (July 11th, “THE PRINCIPLE OF MOMENTS” released) August 26th – October 1st: North America (25 shows) November 22nd – December 24th: UK (22 shows) ←★Here★ January 22nd – February 11th, 1984: Oceania (10 shows) February 16th – 29th: Japan / Hong Kong (9 shows) (March, “THE HONEYDRIPPERS” produced → released on September 24th) This is Robert Plant in 1983/1984. The end of the tour, which changed the year, was only in the Pacific Rim, including Japan. His home country of England was about three months before the Japan performance, and this Newcastle performance was the fifth concert of the “UK” leg. This work, recorded at such a show, is an exquisite and unique stereo soundboard. This is a master leaked by a related party brought to us through our own route, and the detailed performance and singing voice are poured into the brain even in the fine parts, and the master freshness without dubbing marks is also very fresh. However, it is a little different from the sound that you usually associate with the term “sound board leaked by related parties”. A slight effect is applied to the outline of the performance, and it also absorbs lively applause. If you listen to it with headphones, you can tell it is a sound board, and in many songs, the actual voice count that is impossible for the audience is recorded large, and before “Moonlight In Samosa”, the sound man’s voice enters the left channel for a moment (it’s strangely on and makes you feel excited). However, if you listen to it at a glance, it is not surprising that you think “What? Audience?” for a moment. Of course, there is a reason for this. Apparently, this sound was created by the related parties of the leak source. The master cassette is handwritten with “DESK + AMBINIENT”, and the cheers of the directional microphone are mixed into the mixing desk recording. This is a complete guess, but perhaps someone involved tried to process it to make it sound like an official live album as a hobby. However, the cheers on the microphone were probably not officially recorded, and there is an echo in the processing (perhaps a trend in the 1980s). These elements are involved, and as a result, it seems to have been finished in a sound that feels “audience-like?” In any case, the original must be a stereo soundboard. Such a sound depicts the stage of Plant, who made a triumphant return as a solo artist. Of course, the ZEP numbers were still sealed at that time, and all the songs were filled with solo numbers. Let’s organize the contents here. Portrait at 11:00 (5 songs), Pledge Pin, Worse Than Detroit, Moonlight In Samosa, Slow Dancer, Like I’ve Never Been Gone, The Principle of Moments (6 songs + α), In The Mood (Fade In), Messin’ With The Mekon, Thru’ With the Two Step, Other Arms, Horizontal Departure (Lively Up Yourself), Wreckless Love, etc. Unfortunately, it is recorded from the middle of the opening “In The Mood”, and the encore is not included. It is not a complete show, but it can still be enjoyed as a two-disc set of about 86 minutes. Moreover, the content is fresh because it is now. Other than “In The Mood”, there are only repertoires that are not currently available, and especially “Worse Than Detroit”, “Moonlight In Samosa”, “Horizontal Departure”, and “Wreckless Love” are limited to this tour only. The pleasure of enjoying it on a stereo soundboard is irreplaceable. It is a live album that revives the memorable performances in Japan, and the playfulness of the people involved in creating it is also a fun individual board. It is wonderful to soak in the sink, and it is also interesting to step in. A one-of-a-kind leaked soundboard that can be enjoyed in any way. Stereo soundboard recording of the “November 28, 1983 Newcastle upon Tyne performance”. A unique sound board that was brought by a unique route and mixed with a directional microphone by the people involved.
