Description
The second show of the Tokyo performance on March 2, 2012, performed by Robben Ford, Joey DeFrancesco, Darryl Jones, Omar Hakim, graduates of the Miles Davis band in the 80s, and Wallace Roney, the self-proclaimed “successor to the king Miles Davis”, was recorded in its entirety in a superb audience recording. The best sound quality board, 24-bit digitally remastered from the label’s original high-quality master. It is recorded with superb sound with excellent positioning, faithfully capturing the standing positions on the stage lined up with guitar, bass, drums, trumpet, and organ from the right side. The total performance of 75 minutes, with solo time for each member scattered throughout, is of course all a collection of songs related to Miles. Moreover, it is great to see that the selection is well-balanced across the breadth of Miles’ career, including not only 80’s songs such as “Decoy” and “Splatch,” but also hard bop songs such as “Bye Bye Blackbird” and “Summertime,” modal period songs such as “So What,” and 70’s electric period songs such as “Maiysha.” Live in Tokyo, Japan 2nd March 2012 (2nd show) 1. introduction 2.
