Description
The glorious RAINBOW was revived in the 90’s with Doogie White at the front. The valuable full sound board is now available with a major update to the highest peak. This work was recorded at “Santiago performance on June 27, 1996”. This is a stereo soundboard recording that records the whole story. There are some sound boards left in RAINBOW in the 90s, but this work is the most important one along with “BLACK MASQUERADE” of the Düsseldorf performance, which was also made official. First of all, in order to understand the meaning, let’s take a look at the sound board recording sound from the Dougie era. October 2, 1995: Stockholm (incomplete FM + 1 single) October 9: Düsseldorf ← *Official “BLACK MASQUERADE” June 27, 1996: Santiago (complete FM) ←★This work★ 1997 March 18th: Hollywood (Incomplete FM) 4 types in total. There are representative sound boards for each of 1995, 1996, and 1997, but only two of them contain full shows. It is only the official “BLACK MASQUERADE” and the Santiago performance of this work. Soundboards have various characteristics such as mix, sound quality, editing, etc., but the difference between complete and incomplete is overwhelming. In other words, the next thing after “BLACK MASQUERADE” is definitely Santiago’s broadcast sound source. The Santiago sound board is so important, but unfortunately until now there was no board that was worth it. When Doogie first appeared at the time, his pitch went wildly out of whack, and his high-pitched voice was almost Mickey Mouse-like. It’s not very good, but it wasn’t something I could listen to. Of course, since it is a standard sound board, it has naturally been upgraded over the years. . . I didn’t. In addition to the Dusseldorf performance being made official, there was no hope of rebroadcasting the South American broadcast in the 90s, and Ritchie himself retired from HR. 24 years have passed without this broadcast being reviewed. This work changes the history of such a complete sound board. It is a decision board that has been significantly upgraded with a new master brought through a unique route. The quality is overwhelming. First of all, it is expected that the pitch, which was a big problem in the past, is normal, but that is by no means the only thing. The sound itself is completely different, and it’s an upgrade that could even surpass the official version of “BLACK MASQUERADE.” Furthermore, the opening riff of “Since You Been Gone”, which was missing for a moment and felt strange, is also firmly recorded. There is no record of it being digitally rebroadcast, so it should have been an air check at the time, but I didn’t know that such a master had been sleeping for 24 years… Currently, this version does not seem to be available online, and can only be heard in this work. What is depicted with such a top-notch updated sound is a full show that is a little different from “BLACK MASQUERADE”. Let’s compare and organize them here. DEEP PURPLE number 2nd period/5th period: Perfect Strangers/Smoke On The Water 3rd period: Mistreated (★)/Burn RAINBOW number Ronnie era: Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll/Man On The Silver Mountain/ Temple Of The King/Graham era: Since You Been Gone/Joe era: Difficult To Cure/Maybe Next Time (★)/Solitary Stranger: Too Late For Tears/Wolf To The Moon/Still I’m Sad/Black Masquerade/ Ariel/Hall Of The Mountain King *Note: Songs marked with “★” cannot be heard in the official video “BLACK MASQUERADE”. …and it looks like this. For ears that have been accustomed to “BLACK MASQUERADE” for a long time, the opening that leads to “Too Late For Tears” from “Beyond the Rainbow” feels both nostalgic and fresh. And you can enjoy the 1996 set on the stereo sound board, which also includes “Mistreated” and “Maybe Next Time” that cannot be heard in the official work. “Maybe Next Time” is a unique 90s line recording that cannot be heard on the other three sound boards, but “Mistreated” is also delicious. Although it is a song that can be heard on the Hollywood Soundboard in 1997, the performance of this work is overwhelmingly better (or should I say, Dougie’s condition is not good in 1997 as a whole). In particular, “Mistreated” is a song that greatly changes the performance of the guitar and vocals, and this work is the pinnacle of “Doogie’s version of Mistreated”. Only two full sound boards in 90’s RAINBOW. This is a masterpiece of a live album that greatly updates the highest peak. It is an indispensable piece for any collection, and the performances from the period when the band was active are also excellent. This is definitely a super important work that you want to keep alongside the official product “BLACK MASQUERADE.” Live at Teatro Monumental, Santiago, Chile 27th June 1996 STEREO SBD(UPGRADE!!!)
