Description

RITCHIE BLACKMORE’S RAINBOW carried “STRANGER IN US ALL” on their Japan tour in November 1995, and the fifth performance at Nagoya Century Hall was a must-see for fans, using two different types of audience masters directly. It will be released as a must-have 4-disc set! From this ’95 tour, excellent masters such as “STRANGE THEM ALL” and “TOO LATE FOR TEARS: THE FINAL CONCERT IN JAPAN” have been discovered one after another. This work is a high quality work that is as good as any other! RITCHIE BLACKMORE’S RAINBOW was started by Ritchie Blackmore, who left DEEP PURPLE, and welcomed members such as Doogie White. The world tour accompanying “STRANGER IN US ALL”, released in 1995, impressed many fans throughout Europe and the United Kingdom as a “resurrection of Richie.” They chose a live performance in Japan to conclude their 1995 world tour. In DEEP PURPLE in 1993, he left the band just before coming to Japan and disappointed the fans, so Richie himself had expectations for this visit to Japan. In Europe, bands used to perform at club-level venues depending on the country, but on their Japan tour, which began on November 11th, all stages were staged in large-scale halls, with excitement and enthusiasm comparable to any other country. A live show was held. Currently, all performances in this visit to Japan have been made into items with good sound quality, thanks in part to advances in recording equipment. Among them, there are days when multiple sources are famous depending on the live performance, such as the Tokyo performance that was held for two consecutive days and the Chiba performance on the final day. However, there are some live shows where there is a lack of variety of items, or where there are few sound sources available. The Nagoya performance on November 17th, which is the fifth performance in Japan, is one of them, and it seems that there are many fans who say, “This is the only day they don’t have it.” In this work, the Nagoya performance is packaged in a total of 4 discs, including the original DAT master that will appear for the first time, a recording known to enthusiasts as “the highest sound quality of the same day”, and 2 different audience sources! The only live performed by this lineup in Nagoya will be realistically recreated from a compound perspective! Discs 1 and 2 contain an audience recording called “Recorder #1” that is completely unknown even among traders. This sound source was recorded by the same taper as “STRANGE THEM ALL” and “TOO LATE FOR TEARS: THE FINAL CONCERT IN JAPAN” that appeared the other day, and of course the equipment used is the same. Perhaps due to the recording position, there was a strong input of bass sounds such as drums overall (the opening and the first half of “Spotlight Kid” were supplemented by “Recorder #2”), but the direct feeling and powerful sound image were outstanding. There are things. Listeners will feel as if they are sitting in the front row of a live venue, being bathed in sound. The energetic “Too Late For Tears”, “Wolf To The Moon”, “Hall Of The Mountain King” etc. clearly show the power of this recording. “Black Masquerade” and “Ariel”, which require both power and beauty, seem to have a little too much cracking and distortion, but Doogie’s solo trad songs and Richie’s guitar have clear tones. The first half of “Temple Of The King”, which spins, will give you a sense of certain brightness and outlook. “Burn” and “Smoke On The Water”, which fill the venue with excitement, allow you to enjoy Richie’s rock dynamism. On the following discs 3 and 4, the recording formerly known as “STAND BACK” is converted into a disc from the master as “Recorder #2”. When this recording first appeared nearly 15 years ago, it surprised enthusiasts with its “amazing sound quality.” This time, of course, it has been carefully remastered, and the sound that was superior to the original has been further polished. This recording has a certain brightness and closeness of sound, but is characterized by a sound image that is more stable and balanced than discs 1 and 2. Even if there are some similarities in the sounds recorded on the CD, this one is coherent at the very best level without falling apart, and it truly reproduces the live performance with the clarity and realism of a sound board sound source. Greg Smith’s bass, which was captured with a particularly clear outline, is a surprise. The driving bass lines of “Spotlight Kid” and “Too Late For Tears” are drawn with a presence that rivals Richie’s guitar, and everyone will be surprised by this! Of course, Richie’s play is also a great listen. “Difficult To Cure” and “Black Masquerade”, which let you enjoy the wonderful guitar sound, are irresistible. Don’t miss listening to famous songs from the Joe era such as “Stone Cold” played in the encore and “Street Of Dreams” (although it shifts from the back at the beginning). You can also listen to the last song “Over The Rainbow” in its entirety. The Nagoya performance that is effective in this work connects “STRANGE THEM ALL” at the beginning of the tour and “TOO LATE FOR TEARS: THE FINAL CONCERT IN JAPAN” on the last day. Please thoroughly enjoy RAINBOW’s last Japan tour (at the moment) with the real document of the venue made with the same taper recording as those previously released and the finest audience source that can be said to be the highest quality. A must-see for all Richie fans will be released here in a large volume of 4 discs and 240 minutes!
