Description

Newly discovered precious recordings from Rhett Forrister’s era. It will be released on the same day along with the RAINBOW and SCORPIONS editions of the same recording artist collection. This work includes “June 21, 1982 Harrisburg Performance”. This is the best audience recording. I’m sure many of you have already seen the RAINBOW version of “Black Box 029” and the SCORPIONS version of “Shades 1113,” but on this day, the headliner was Line Book, and the coupling show was supported by SCORPIONS and RIOT. Show. The three works with the same title released simultaneously this week are sister works recorded by the same recording artist. It’s best to experience all three works in one day, but this work alone is also a valuable RIOT masterpiece. Therefore, let’s check the show’s position on the tour schedule from RIOT’s perspective. [“RESTLESS BREED” released on March 21st]・June 2nd – July 5th: North America #1 (23 performances)←★Here★・August 12th – 19th: North America #2 (4 performances)・October 30th: Staten Island Performance This is the tour related to “RESTLESS BREED”. In fact, there was so little information about RIOT at the time that it’s hard to say with certainty that this is all there is to it. Although it is not very helpful, you can imagine that it was a very valuable time. In any case, the Harrisburg performance of this work is (probably) the 15th performance of “North America #1” exactly three months after the release of “RESTLESS BREED”. Speaking of the Rhett era, it is also included in the official EP “RIOT LIVE”, but it was a concert two weeks before that. This work, which records such a show, is comparable to the RAINBOW and SCORPIONS editions. In fact, as you can imagine from the fact that the RAINBOW edition has been made into a CD, it is a superb audience recording. This work is a master collection by a recording artist called “luvsufo”, which is currently a hot topic, and it is very refreshing. I wrote that in the RAINBOW and SCORPIONS editions, “it doesn’t have the close feeling of a sound board,” but in this work, the sound output is different due to the undercard, or is the position itself different? The core is stronger and the distance is also better. I feel close. Of course, the delicacy conveyed to the details is the same as the RAINBOW / SCORPIONS edition, and the beauty of Kinney recording is also firmly contained. With such a sound, RIOT is 100% authentic, including the late Rhett Forrister’s singing voice. Let’s organize the set while comparing it with the official EP “RIOT LIVE”. ●FIRE DOWN UNDER (2 songs)・Swords & Tequila・Songs that cannot be heard on EP [RIOT LIVE]: Outlaw ●RESTLESS BREED (5 songs)・Hard Lovin’ Man/Loanshark/Restless Breed/Loved by You・EP [RIOT LIVE] ] Song that can’t be heard: When I Was Young… and so on. Being the first of the three groups on the day, they had about 30 minutes to perform, and there were no songs like “Warrior” or “Narita,” and all songs were selected from “FIRE DOWN UNDER” and “RESTLESS BREED.” It is rare to hear the “FIRE DOWN UNDER” number with Rhett’s singing voice, and “RESTLESS BREED” is valuable just because it is performed live. “When I Was Young” and “Outlaw” were not heard on “RIOT LIVE”, and “When I Was Young” in particular is a hidden masterpiece cover of ANIMALS’ original song coated with RIOT’s unique heroic feel. The up-tempo that is unique to a live performance makes it even more metal, and it’s just so cool. What surprised me was the enthusiasm of the venue. Just to be sure, the performance sound of this work is powerful, and no matter how big the excitement on the scene is, it can be suppressed firmly. What I think is that there is a surprising amount of excitement (sorry!). The people gathered at the scene were RAINBOW fans and some SCORPIONS fans. Despite this, RIOT received as much reception as the headliners from the start of the show, and even “RESTLESS BREED”, which may not have been as popular, was met with joy. And Rhett’s singing voice, which more than meets those expectations, is also passionate and powerful enough to make you think of Kevin Dubrow. It’s so exciting that I can’t help but ask, “Hey, are you sure you’re not confusing me with QUIET RIOT?” However, at that time, QUIET RIOT had yet to make a comeback with “METAL HEALTH,” so that was impossible. Two years later, RIOT was forced to cease activities (masked disbandment), but if they had gotten solid management on their side and stuck with Rhett a little longer, RIOT’s breakthrough might not have been a dream… …This is a show that will drive you to such delusions. That and this is the truth about RIOT during the Rhett Forrister era. This is a superb audience recording that serves as a “sound witness” that narrates the scene. It is starting to be re-evaluated through official bootlegs, etc., but the truth is still in the customer records. It’s good to experience “early summer of 1982” in conjunction with the RAINBOW/SCORPIONS edition, and of course this work alone is a valuable masterpiece. And it’s totally OK if this work becomes the entrance to the Rhett era RIOT! A live album that can be enjoyed in any way. Live at City Island, Harrisburg, PA, USA 21st June 1982 PERFECT SOUND (31:02) 1. Intro 2. Hard Lovin’ Man 3. Loanshark 4. Restless Breed 5. When I Was Young 6. Swords & Tequila 7. Outlaw 8.
