Description

Ringo Starr & His All Stars Band’s 2019 tour took a break after the highly successful Japan tour, and then resumed in August with a tour of the United States and successfully concluded. It is still fresh in my memory that the Beach Boys were the opening act at the beginning of this tour. The performance was held on September 1st at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles (this notation seems to be common in LA). After all, on this day, the sound source has not yet appeared on the internet, and the latest performance has been released that is attracting attention from enthusiasts all over the world. It was a Japanese taper who dared to record that historic stage. Thanks to him making the trip to the Greek Theater, we were able to hear the All Stars’ final stage of 2019 as soon as possible. The quality of the audience recording he provided is truly amazing. It is true that the sound quality is not of the kind that could be described as “like a soundboard,” but it was full of the intimate feeling that could only be found at the Greek Theater, an outdoor venue that the Ringo Troupe liked to use when performing in LA. It breathes in a lot of atmosphere and air. Speaking of how comfortable it is to listen to. Still, the sound image of the performance itself was well-balanced, and the overall atmosphere was dominated by a relaxed atmosphere that was different from the peacefulness of spring in Japan. The setlist itself has the same composition as Japan in the spring, but the performance of the craftsman band, which is as crisp and rock-solid as ever, is also wonderful. As for Steve Lukather, it was a performance in his hometown, and his hustle was clearly conveyed through his guitar playing. Since they have already finished their spring Japan tour, all of their performances are truly amazing, but on this tour as well, in front of “Yellow Submarine,” they performed a touch of “Day Tripper,” which excited the audience. It was fun to see Ringo on stage being even more talkative than usual, helped by the fact that unlike back then, the stage was in an English-speaking country and it was the last day of the tour. On the other hand, the great reaction to songs by the Average White Band, led by Hamish Stewart, is something that is unique to America, and on the other hand, the response to “Oye como va,” which was led by Greg Rory, caused a great deal of confusion with the audience before it even started. There are some surprising scenes where the exclamation “Aura!” doesn’t get all that excited. “With a Little Help From My Friends” was the emotional finale of the last day of the tour. It’s a number that guests tend to jump in on a regular basis, but on this day, the alumni of the All Stars Band gathered together to sing in chorus, which was truly moving. Yes, Joe Walsh, Nils Lofgren, Edgar Winter, and even Eric Carmen. Furthermore, recent members such as Richard Page and other great musicians came together for the finale. Among them, Ringo even praises Walsh and Lofgren as members who participated in his “first band (1989).” Jim Keltner (who also participated in 1989) appeared as the finale, and it turned into a grand finale where he sat on Ringo’s drum kit and played. Also, when the tour is held next year, there is a high possibility that the members will change (which is also the appeal of All Stars), so it is even more exciting that the latest live sound source that captures the final performance of Ringo All Stars in 2019 will be released. It is sure to please enthusiasts around the world. Live at Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA, USA 1st September 2019 PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (51:30) 1. Intro 2. Matchbox 3.
