Return to Forever/South Korea 2011

RETURN TO FOREVER has unexpectedly resumed their activities with Jean Luc Ponty and Frank Gambale! We succeeded in recording the live performance in Seoul, South Korea on October 14, 2011, for about 100 minutes with powerful audience shots that used many close shots. This stage was held immediately after the Japan performance, which was still fresh in the memory, and it was an eclectic set for the first and second half of the Japan performance, opening with “Beyond The Seventh Galaxy” and incorporating “Romantic Warrior” in the middle. It’s a shame that the parts from the ending of “Romantic Warrior” to “Spain” are missing from the master, but the footage recorded from the second floor seats directly to the left of the stage using a lot of zoom is full of power, and the footage above the stage is very impressive. It is an excellent image that looks as if it has been lifted up. Compared to the video quality, the sound quality is a little lacking, with some sound cracking in the mid-low range caused by the master, but the label’s own remastering work has improved the overall sound quality by several steps and reversed it.
