Description

The legendary RATT, who brought authentic LA metal to Japan before MOTLEY CRUE and DOKKEN, came to Japan for the first time. A precious original recording that conveys the scene has been newly excavated. This work is recorded at the “March 23, 1985: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall” performance. This is a full audience recording. Speaking of their first visit to Japan, the excavated album “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT” was also very popular. Including that, let’s first check the show position from the Japan schedule. ・March 20th “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT (Employee’s Pension)” ・March 21st: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall ・March 23rd: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall ←★This work★ ・March 25th: Osaka Festival Hall ・March 26th: Nagoya City Public Hall A total of 5 performances. Kinney’s recording “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT” was the first day of the first day, but this work was released three days later. It was the last concert of three consecutive performances at the same venue. This work recorded at such a site is a vintage audience that will be released for the first time in Japan. It is the original master of this work only given by the recorder himself, but it is extremely historical. I also borrowed a ticket for the same day, but it was printed with “Stand 2nd Floor” and a big stamp with “Freedom”. I don’t know the reason now, whether it was originally set like that or if it was a special same-day ticket, but I have never seen such a ticket. And the ticket and the sound of this work are beautifully linked. Although there is a sense of distance because it is the second floor stand, a powerful core penetrates the atmosphere straight through. Furthermore, the heat of the site. The venue is rejoicing to see RATT for the first time, but the chanting and screaming have a three-dimensional feeling that blows up from the first floor arena. The surrounding audience is also excited (unreserved seats), but the perspective between the close-up audience and the first floor seats creates a wonderful sense of space in the venue. Such a scorching real sound depicts a full show that is longer than the first day’s “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT”. Let’s quickly organize it by comparing. Ratt (6 songs) U Got It / Tell the World / Walkin’ the Dog / You Think You’re Tough / Sweet Cheater / Back for More Flames of Passion (7 songs) In Your Direction / Wanted Man / You’re in Trouble / I’m Insane / The Morning After / Lack of Communication / Round and Round Invasion of Your Privacy (3 songs) Give It All / Never Use Love / Lay It Down (★) *Note: The “★” mark indicates a song that could not be heard on the first day album “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT (Shades 1120)”. …And so on. They played all the songs that could be heard on “TOKYO 1985 1ST NIGHT”, and added their signature song “Lay It Down”. Of course, this was before the release of “INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY”, and this work may have been the world premiere (there is also documentation that it was performed on New Year’s Eve 1984, but it must have been one of the very first few times). Of course, the rest are also condensed versions of the debut EP and album. The opening is “U Got It”, which has been sealed for more than 20 years, and “Give It All”, which was only possible at the time, also pops out. And above all, the concentration of seven out of the ten songs on “OUT OF THE CELLAR” is overwhelming. And the enthusiasm that erupts like a geyser for each song… The fragrance that could only have been in 1985 erupts from the speakers. Even so, it’s incredibly popular. It’s a tremendous excitement. The audience, who have never heard of MOTLEY CRUE or DOKKEN, met the new movement “LA Metal” for the first time. This work is a documentary album that allows you to experience the shock and enthusiasm on site with real sound. About three months after this work, MOTLEY CRUE will make their first visit to Japan, and DOKKEN will also land at the end of the year. More specifically, IRON MAIDEN’s “WORLD SLAVERY Tour” will be performed at the same venue the month after this work. An original master that can fully absorb such a sense of the era. Full audience recording of the performance “March 23, 1985: Tokyo Welfare Pension Hall”. This is the original master only for this work, given by the recorder himself, and although there is a slight sense of distance because it is recorded from the second floor stand, a powerful core penetrates the atmosphere straight through. Even more realistic is the heat. Joy erupts from the first floor arena, and the sense of distance from the close-up audience beautifully depicts the spatial sense of the venue. “Lay it Down”, which was not performed on the first day, is also delicious, and it is a super-realistic experience-type album that blows out from the speakers at the scene where you first encounter the new movement “LA Metal”.
