Last year, a soundboard recording of a live performance in Enschede, the Netherlands, which was rebroadcast from a tour conducted by a trio consisting of three members representing ECM, was released. From the beginning, Kenny Wheeler’s trumpet is added to the quiet performance of Towner’s beautiful acoustic guitar and piano with Gary Peacock’s bass, creating a highly aesthetic stage. This is a wonderful live performance by a majestic acoustic trio, with the improvisations of the three members quietly speaking to each other. This is one album that ECM fans cannot miss.
