Description

“Carry On… Jon” has touched the hearts of fans around the world and become a song that symbolizes “21st century RAINBOW”. A video collection featuring the masterpiece that was performed only once at the “June 28, 2017 Birmingham performance” has been decided to be released. The fact that this masterpiece was performed was surprising and moving. The song was originally released in June 2013, about a year after John’s death. It was an instrumental song included in BLACKMORE’S NIGHT’s “DANCER AND THE MOON”. The original was a video with a melancholy melody written on an electric guitar as if to dedicate it to his “rock ally”, and a monochrome photo of John with only “RIP JON” written on it. Four years have passed since then. In the end, it was only performed a few times at BLACKMORE’S NIGHT, but it was performed on a stage of “rock return” that no one expected. The beautiful melody captured the hearts of the audience who were expecting the masterpieces of DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW, making “June 28, 2017” a special day beyond the dimension of a simple rare performance. This work is a compilation of such a memorable moment in various videos. It is a compilation of six types of live footage and officially released tribute footage. First of all, five types of audience shots are included. It includes cuts from “BIRMINGHAM 2017: THE VIDEO” that we introduced the other day, but there are four other types recorded. One was taken from the first floor seats in front of the stage, one was boldly zoomed in on Richie from the left of the stage, and one was a shot looking down from the second floor seats. Each angle has different image quality and sound quality, but one thing they have in common is a great view. There are no obstructions in either case, and you can look straight at the stage. This work is not a blind collection of videos overflowing on the Internet, but is carefully selected for quality. There is not a single blurry or smudged image. The shot from the front is particularly wonderful. The cut from “BIRMINGHAM 2017: THE VIDEO” has the best image quality, but the screen was at an angle because it was from the left side. However, the front shot allows you to look straight at the screen with John’s figure in a close-up. The quality of the shot is worth looking at from various perspectives. Richie, accompanied by only a simple drum, strums a beautiful melody illuminated by a spotlight. Behind him is John of the past, projected on a giant monitor. The figure is a young organist of DEEP PURPLE, a reorganization era in which old friends were warmed up, and a maestro with many years of experience. A guitarist who savors each memory and immerses himself in a beautiful melody as if to shake off his sadness…. There are no words to speak, and it is a famous scene among famous scenes where the melody is simply filled with feelings. And in this film, there are also audience members who accept Richie’s feelings. Each cut is engraved with the sighs and roars of the audience “there”, and even the words “Oh, Jon…”. From the beginning of the song to the next song, there is no MC, but Richie’s will is felt in the figure of John projected on the screen, and he joins in by clapping as if to unite his feelings. And the more beautiful the melody becomes, the more overwhelmed he is, and his hands stop involuntarily… Such a moment is projected in detail, second by second. And the sixth image is a multi-camera created by combining such audience shots. The seventh is an official tribute image. This official image is almost the same as the one projected on the on-site screen. This image is composited with a photo of the sunset and used at a slightly slower speed. Although each one has a different perspective, all of them are masterpiece shots with the best field of view. The reason so many images were left behind is probably because so many audience members were moved. The many films he took resulted in many masterpieces. He filmed them because he wanted to preserve them, and released them to the public because he wanted to share them. “21st Century RAINBOW” gave us memories with every single day and song. Of all those, this song is the one that is most strongly and deeply engraved in our memories. This is a memorial title that will also mark the record of “Carry On… Jon.” Live at Genting Arena, Birmingham, UK 28th June 2017 (43:19) Carry On… Jon #1 Carry On… Jon #2 Carry On… Jon #3 Carry On… Jon #4 Carry On… Jon #5 Carry On… Jon #6 Carry On… Jon #7 (Official)
