Description
This work is an audience shot of “June 28, 2017: Birmingham performance”. First, let’s check the position of the show on the schedule. ・ June 17: London performance ・ June 25: Glasgow performance ・ June 28: Birmingham performance [This work] In this way, the Birmingham performance of this work is the last day. As with the first and second days that we have reported so far, it is a video version that puts together a full show with video on a song-by-song basis, but the quality is different from before. In fact, on this third day, the best shots appeared, and it is a piece full of unity with that as the main focus. The shot was taken from about the third row on the left side of the stage (Jens Johansson side), and it is super stable and unobstructed. Although it is not the front row, you can witness almost the full show from the “closest seats” where the front fence and the camera pit crew are in full view. To say “almost” does not mean completely. Unfortunately, this superb shot is missing “Since You Been Gone” and “Man On The Silver Mountain”, and there are some cuts in the bass/keyboard/drum solo times. In this work, only “Since You Been Gone” and “Man On The Silver Mountain” are complemented with a different angle. However, the biggest point is the “experience” of being able to watch 90% of the show from the best seats. Many videos have been produced from 21st century RAINBOW so far, but there has never been a video that allows you to experience the whole show with such high quality. Furthermore, the biggest must-see scene in this work is “Carry On… Jon”. As mentioned in the commentary of the bulletin board “BIRMINGHAM 2017”, this is a tribute song to the late Jon Lord, announced as BLACKMORE’S NIGHT. It is not a touching phrase that comes to mind, but a full performance of more than 6 minutes. The live album was very moving, but this work is even more wonderful. The screen shows the image of John in his old days one after another, further deepening the delicate acoustic guitar melody. It’s a special song that was only played on this day, but far from being a spur of the moment, he had even prepared the video. Along with that fleeting melody, Richie’s feelings are heart-wrenching. You can experience it from the best seats. The “experience” that was cultivated up to that point was for these 6 minutes and 20 seconds… that’s how much of a highlight it is. RAINBOW in the 21st century, with six performances in 2016 and 2017. If you could experience only one performance in a time machine, which day would you like to do it on? Each of the six performances had its own famous scene and rare song, but most people would probably choose “June 28, 2017: Birmingham Performance” and “Carry On… Jon” from this work. Unfortunately, humanity still has no way to transcend time, but this work serves as a substitute. Not only the famous songs of DEEP PURPLE and RAINBOW, but also a one-time tribute that crystallized the feelings for their allies. A masterpiece of a video work that allows you to experience it from the best seats. Live at Genting Arena, Birmingham, UK 28th June 2017 1. Over The Rainbow 2. Spotlight Kid 3. I Surrender 4.
