Description

This work is, of course, a multi-camera professional shot of the “August 18, 1982 San Antonio performance” that is familiar to fans. This video has already been officially released on DVD, but the content of the official DVD was actually quite a bit strange. Even though it is official, it is based on the video master, and the image contains wave-shaped noise, and the sound is not the best. It was a finish that still makes me wonder, “Is it really official?” So, which one is “best”? It was a Japanese laser disc that was officially released in the 90s and has long since been out of print. Not only does it have a standard higher resolution than video, but it is also resistant to uneven playback and deterioration over time, and the sound is of the highest quality. Above all, it is a completely “different thing” that has been edited from a different angle than the video. Although it was not particularly well-publicized at the time, collectors who knew both had a reputation for saying, “Laser discs have better image quality” and “the shots are more impressive.” This work is precisely digitized from the mint quality Japanese laser disc. In fact, the quality of this work is undoubtedly the highest ever and the highest in history. Even compared to the official DVD, the image quality is clearly higher (by far), and the sound recorded in uncompressed linear PCM is also an extremely wonderful official sound. Speaking of the splendor of “LIVE BETWEEN THE EYES” drawn with that quality! The images are already searing in the eyes and jarring, but it’s completely new when depicted in visual beauty that I’ve never seen before. After all, the highlight of this video is the energetic Richie. There is a series of actions that seem to be conscious of the camera, and the intensity is something you can’t experience in any other video. Even though it was the age of home video, it was hard to believe that Richie, who ignored and destroyed the camera at California Jam, had changed so much… Of course, the “American trio” of Joe Lynn Turner, Bobby Rondinelli, and David Rosenthal also looked youthful and dazzling, and the “big eyes” glaring at the audience during “Spotlight Kid” also shook their big heads. You can also enjoy the drum solo that hits the drums at the highest quality ever. Also, it is unique to 1982 that DEEP PURPLE (fragments) that have been sealed for a long time are scattered throughout. “Lazy” and “Woman From Tokyo” are played in the intro of “All Night Long,” as well as “Child In Time,” the keyboard solo that precedes “Stone Cold.” Of course, the audience was overjoyed by such phrases, but looking at their reactions, I thought, “It’s no wonder they aim to reunite DEEP PURPLE…” “Stone Cold” and “Power” were also included in “FINYL VINYL”, but this work has a sound that surpasses that official version. You can enjoy the quality of the sharpness and thickness on a different level. And the biggest climax is a guitar crash! Not only is it the biggest highlight of the show, but it is also the biggest point of this work. The camera angle is very different from the official DVD. It’s different from the detailed cut, but the best one is the close-up angle of Richie. It is a powerful shot that allows you to witness the frenzied performance from right under the stage and close to Richie. Looking back, I think RAINBOW wasn’t as fun to watch as it was in 1982. With the aim of invading the United States, Niji changed their music, welcomed American members, and put on a show. We have reported on countless live albums, but the true value must be seen with your own eyes. This is the highest peak album in history. This is a “pinnacle” work that surpasses even official products. The ultimate video of RAINBOW, which can now be called a cultural heritage.
