Description

A live album that directly reproduces the legendary analog masterpiece “LIVE AT BUDO KAN” has been decided to be released. This work was recorded at the “STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES JAPAN TOUR” performance “October 21, 1982: Nippon Budokan”. As usual, let’s check the dates. ・October 12, 13, and 14, 1982: Osaka Festival Hall ・October 16, 1982: Kyoto Kaikan ・October 17, 1982: Fukuoka Sunpalace ・October 19, 1982: Nagoya City Public Hall ・October 21, 1982: Nippon Budokan [This work] ・October 22, 1982: Nippon Budokan In this way, there were a total of eight performances in Japan in 1982. The performance that is included in this work is the second-to-last performance at Nippon Budokan. There is also the masterpiece “RIPPED APART” on this day, but this work was created from a traditional LP. The sound is a wonderful audience sound that brings back memories. Of course, even if it was originally an LP, it was digitized with the latest technology in 2016, and the neat and delicate sound is extremely beautiful. I don’t know the condition of the original analog record, but it is probably in pretty good condition. The freshness unique to vinyl, which does not deteriorate over time, shines. Even the fierce cheers approach with the fineness of ripples. The first day of the Budokan depicted by that sound is also wonderful. There were many live performances on the 1982 Japan tour that were hard to call great, but the band’s enthusiasm was considerable at the highlight, Nippon Budokan. Ritchie Blackmore, who had cut it short early in the Nagoya performance just before, was also extremely motivated, perhaps because he had a day off in between. To be honest, there are some scenes where he makes a mistake in the solo of “Spotlight Kid” and “Miss Mistreated” becomes rough, but it is so full of momentum that it is clear that it is a waste of motivation. It is a passionate performance that makes you imagine him taking flashy actions (although on the final day the next day, his motivation and performance meshed …). Of course, when Richie gets hot, the band burns and the audience burns. The performance, which has been increased in tempo, is just hot, and the rising chorus has a three-dimensional effect that depicts an octagonal space. Although it is the most recent musical sound, there is no reverberation around it, and the clear chorus simply depicts the space. It is a sample of a magnificent audience recording. A masterpiece of analog bootlegs that has been conveying the truth of RAINBOW for a long time. This is a masterpiece live album in which the exquisite sound is revived with the latest technology. Compared to 1981, when Joe Lynn Turner showed off his best singing voice, and 1984, when RAINBOW was on the verge of collapse, the “STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES JAPAN TOUR” has received less attention, but RAINBOW was still amazing there. “BUDO KAN” was special. This is a film that makes you realize the truth of that fact. Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 21st October 1982 Disc 1(43:38) 1. Land Of Hope And Glory 2. Over The Rainbow 3. Spotlight Kid 4.
