Description
RAINBOW completed three performances in 2017. This work is one of them. This is an audience shot of “June 26, 2017: Glasgow performance”. First, let’s check the position of the show on the schedule. June 17: London performance June 25: Glasgow performance [this work] June 28: Birmingham performance In this way, the Glasgow performance of this work is the second of three performances. It is a collection of videos assembled from the video of each song that has appeared on the net. Since the shooting is different for each song, it can not be said that “the angle is ○○” and “the position is △△”, but on the contrary, it is a collection of best shots carefully selected for all songs. Although there is no hope for a sense of unity, each song can be witnessed almost full show with a wonderful sight. The Glasgow performance drawn with such quality has plenty of highlights different from the first day London performance. First of all, the opening “Spotlight Kid” is different from the first day. The huge screen was in charge of the production, but on the first day, “Spotlight Kid” had inexplicable polka dots flying around. However, in Glasgow, the huge eyeball of “STRAIGHT BETWEEN THE EYS” came down and glared at the audience. In the London performance, it was a production that was done in “Child In Time”, but no matter how you think about it, the opening is more suitable. Aside from such production, the biggest point of this work is the set list that is said to be “the rarest in 21st century RAINBOW”. This time, the set of RAINBOW was different for each performance, and each of the three days in 2017 had a “special song only for that day”. Let’s organize the special songs for the three days here. ・London performance: “Still I’m Sad” ・Glasgow performance: “16th Century Greensleeves” and “The Temple Of The King” ・Birmingham performance: “Carry On… Jon” In this way, only the Glasgow performance had two special songs. “16th Century Greensleeves” was also performed at last year’s Birmingham concert, but only on this day this year. “The Temple Of The King” was only performed once throughout 2016 and 2017. This work can be witnessed in this precious scene. Through these two songs (and not only), you can feel Ronnie Romero’s romantic expressiveness. With his wild voice, he currently embodies the “rock” and “power” side of RAINBOW, but that’s not all. His singing voice is more than powerful and tough, it’s wonderful to be heroic. It colors the medieval melody that could become sweet with dignity, and it is sublimated into romanticism. This “dignity” is the element that made Ronnie James Dio stand out. Romero is the closest to the originator among all the great singers of the past. Live at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow, Scotland 26th June 2017 1. Over The Rainbow 2. Spotlight Kid 3. I Surrender 4.
