Description

Following “RISING IN HIROSHIMA”, which surprised many RAINBOW fans, the best audience source that is a must-listen for fans has appeared again from the treasured sound source collection! The newly discovered sound source is the Nagoya City Public Hall performance held on December 7th from RAINBOW’s first visit to Japan in 1976. This work is also the best live performance, with a sound that is as good as “RISING IN HIROSHIMA” and “AN EVENING IN DECEMBER”! The Japan tour that RAINBOW conducted twice in 1976 and 1978 when Ronnie James Dio was a member has been significantly excavated in recent years, and now you can enjoy almost all the dates with excellent sound. The Carl & Storm label, which suddenly appeared this year and is attracting the attention of hard rock collectors, has been releasing many wonderful items one after another, and even the sound source that came to Japan in 1976 has become a matter of course. (This would have been unimaginable 15 years ago). This work “RISING IN NAGOYA” is a complete recording of the third performance of RAINBOW’s Japan tour in 1976, the Nagoya City Public Hall performance on December 7th, based on the audience master provided by Miracle Man. This Nagoya performance has already been released in the past such as “SOMEONE’S CALLING MY NAME – CATCH THE NIJI”, but the variety of items is very small compared to the items in Tokyo and Osaka, and it is difficult to obtain at the moment. It’s one of the more difficult live performances. That’s why it’s great news for fans that they can now enjoy this live show with excellent sound quality from a different angle than the previous ones. Even in the sound source of RAINBOW’s visit to Japan in 1976, which has a sense of success, this work will be one that will attract a lot of attention. This recording is typical of the Nagoya City Public Hall, with the close distance between the audience and the stage, giving it a close and tight sound. It is not hard to imagine that Taper himself was recording from the front row of the venue, but even so, the excitement of the venue at the opening and the direct sound image of “Kill The King” suddenly captivated me. Sho. After the first and second day of the tour, Richie’s guitar is finally starting to show its true potential, and you can listen to Richie’s wild play from the beginning of “Kill The King”. Ronnie’s vocals and Cozy’s drums are also in excellent condition, and the “triumvirate” RAINBOW’s furious play overwhelms the fans in the venue from the beginning.Today’s “Mistreated” is Ronnie’s “Tommy Bolin’s” It begins with the MC “For Tommy” (Ronnie’s MC “Dedicated to Tommy” at the beginning of the song was performed afterwards, but this Nagoya performance was the first time it was mentioned). Richie’s solo in the intro, etc., has a listening response that feels like a line source due to its clearness, direct feeling, and tight acoustics. The scene where the whole band joins in after the solo is so powerful that it almost gives me goosebumps while listening to it (the great thing about this recording is that the sound doesn’t crack or distort). “16th Century Greensleeves”, where the band’s fantastical charm unfolds with the highest quality sound, and “Catch The Rainbow” are the highlights of the first half of the live show. Richie’s solo drawn with a clear tone, Ronnie’s vocals using various expressions…The musical sounds you can hear here are truly amazing! I’m sure all fans will be overjoyed to be able to enjoy such realistic recordings of both players’ performances. The medley of “Man On The Silver Mountain” in the middle of the live performance, and “Stargazer” where the collision between Cozy and Richie is full of power, are of course a series of great performances and enthusiastic performances that you can’t miss for a moment. The wildness of “Still I’m Sad” where the band comes together to liven up the climax of the live performance (parts of the beginning and middle of this song were missing, so they were filled in from the master of “CATCH THE NIJI”) The ferocity was comparable to the performances in Tokyo and Osaka. Of course, Cozy’s solo will also be reproduced with a powerful sound full of punch that will hit the listener directly! “Do You Close Your Eyes” is led by Richie’s guitar intro that sounds like a storm of sound, and the guitar crash explodes in the second half! Here, the audience’s excitement at Richie’s every move and the noise emitted by the guitar being smashed are vividly captured, and the impact is simply spectacular! Throughout the entire live performance (approximately 115 minutes), all listeners will be able to experience the destructive performance typical of early RAINBOW. If you think about it, this Nagoya City Public Hall was the venue where the final day of Ronnie’s 2007 HEAVEN & HELL Japan tour was held, his last visit to Japan. In other words, it is also the place where Ronnie performed his last live in Japan. This work, which captures the first live performance at that special venue with a sound that can be said to be completely different from a recording made over 35 years ago, is a must-listen for all hard rock/heavy metal fans! RAINBOW’s sound sources from Japan, especially the 1976 recording, had the impression that almost all of them had been excavated, but there are still live shows with a small number of types, such as the Nagoya performance in this work. This work can be said to be an item that fulfills the wishes of such enthusiastic fans who want to listen to more sound sources. The band’s passionate performance, which was different from the Tokyo and Osaka performances, and the finest piece that realistically revived the excitement of the venue.
