Description
Centered around Wolfgang Downer, the evangelist of the new jazz movement, Eberhard Weber and other European cutting-edge artists gathered together, and guests such as Chick Corea, Larry Coryell, Oregon, and Zbigniew Seifert were invited to perform, as they do every year. The spectacular 70’s 5 session that was held on 2019 is now available! ! Since the mid-1960s, he has been working with cutting-edge musicians from Germany, England, France, Belgium, Scandinavia, etc., centering on Wolfgang Downer, a famous pianist who was indispensable to the development of German jazz and an evangelist of the new jazz movement after the Evans school. 1971, 1972 x 2, 1973, 1974, 1975 by Radio Jazz Group Stuttgart, which was held every year in the 70s and 80s in Downer’s hometown Stuttgart. , each featuring guests such as Chick Corea, Larry Coryell, Oregon, and Zbigniew Seifert, all 160 in total on the highest quality stereo soundboard that has been carefully mastered by the label. An intense 2-disc set recorded over several minutes is now available for the first time! ! The 1971 session featured Downer and Eberhard Weber, along with Ak van Rooyen on trumpet, Walter Freund and Gerd Dudek on saxophone, Fred Braceful on drums, and guests Albert Ayler and Mal Waldron. Drummer Allen Blairman, known for his collaborations with John Thurman, Don Cherry, Dave Holland, and others, and piano/vibraphone player Carl Berger (here only vibraphone), known for his collaborations with John Thurman, Don Cherry, and Dave Holland, will participate. They are producing very high-quality music that is full of free music! In the 1972 session, Chick Corea participated as a guest, with almost the same members as in 1971, and played all Chick songs, greatly featuring Chick. That same year, Chick released his debut album with Return to Forever, “Kamome”, on Germany’s ECM, and he performed “Return to Forever”, which he had rarely played live, on his own RTF. He has performed a great performance that surpasses the original RTF version. They also played Chick’s hidden masterpiece “Sundance” and the beautiful “Random Control.” The twin keyboards of Chick and Downer are also a delight to listen to. Also, let’s not forget that saxophonist Joki Freund, who participated this year, gave an impressive performance! Another 1972 session featured the spectacular all-over polyrhythms of Makaya Nxoko, South Africa’s best drummer, who is also known for his performances with Dollar Brand, Hugh Masekela, and Dudu Pukwana. The way they hit the beat is amazing. A considerable amount of time is spent in a super drum battle with Fred Braceful, but it could even be done in one session with just these two, or rather Nshoko’s drums! By the way, vocalists (scat) Ingrid Berger and Flora Primm, who are participating in this session, were participating in the RTF tour instead. We also have several RTF live albums with burgers in stock. The 1973 session featured Eleventh House and Downer, led by Larry Coryell in his prime, featuring Randy Brecker, Mike Mandel, Danny Tryfant, Alfonse Mouzahn, and if he had lived a little longer, Jean… Luc Ponty and Didier Lockwood are no match for each other…they are truly geniuses! Violinist Zbigniew Seifert joins in to listen to intense jazz rock. Black Bonzo (John Bonham of Zeppelin) Muzan’s powerful banging, Mandel’s flying keyboard, and Coryell’s flying keyboard of Downer who was with the legendary group Etcetra are mixed together to create a wah effect. Brecker’s trumpet and Coryell and Seifert’s transcendental technical solos put on a truly outrageous performance. “YIN” is especially fierce! More than three years ago, it was even more amazing than that live concert between Jeff Beck and the Jan Hammer Group…The 1974 session also featured Ralph Downer, Colin Walcott, Glenn Moore, and Paul McCandless. Downer joins and co-stars in Oregon, which is performed by the steady members of “Oregon.” Rather than the usual idyllic performance, the performance is quite serious, with delicate plays full of tension. Each member strives to play very creatively, and when they all come together, the fantastic performance that brings to mind a paradise is one of a kind! The 1975 session featured Zbigniew Seifert and his group, who had guested at the 1973 Coryell session, and Downer participated as the host. However, since Seifert and Coltrane’s unique and extraordinary performances that combined passion and spiritualism with the violin tradition rooted in Polish folk and classical music, not many remain as they died young, but none of them remain. It’s incredible, and I want you to listen to all of his remaining performances! Authentic music from the most advanced and progressive era is here!
