Description
Kevin Dubrow was the founder of QUIET RIOT along with Randy Rhoads. A treasured original sound source that conveys the scene of “QR III JAPAN TOUR” in 1986, which was his last visit to Japan before his death, is now available. This work was recorded on “November 27, 1986: Ryogoku Kokugikan”. This is a masterpiece audience recording that vacuum-packed the scene. QUIET RIOT also came to Japan in 1987 and 1989, but the singer at that time was Paul Shortino, formerly of RUGH CUTT. After that, Kevin once again appeared at the front of QUIET RIOT, which reunited in the 1990s, but he never came to Japan and passed away in 2007. As a result, this 1986 was the last performance in Japan during Kevin’s lifetime. First, let’s look back at the schedule and check the show’s position.・November 25: Aichi Welfare Pension Hall ・November 27: Ryogoku Kokugikan ←★This work★ ・November 29: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall ・December 1: Fukuoka Sun Palace A total of 4 performances. Last year, when they first came to Japan, they held four consecutive performances at Nakano Sunplaza, which became a hot topic, but their second time they only had one performance. Instead, the stage was Ryogoku Kokugikan, which is not often used for concerts. This work recorded at that valuable show has a wonderful realistic sound. Although it is undeniable that it is a little far away, the atmosphere is refreshing and the strong core reaches straight. There are loud cheers between songs, but during the performance they quickly subside, and there is no obstruction between them and the sound of the performance. Therefore, the subtleties of each instrument are clearly transmitted, and the vocals and thick chorus do not mix together. And above all, master freshness. This is the original master of this work that was given to us by the person who recorded it, and there are no dubbing marks or deterioration over time. It’s a fresh live album that you can fully immerse yourself in, with the freshness of the atmosphere from 34 years ago blowing out of the speakers. What is depicted with such a sound is a full show that concentrates the trilogy “METAL HEALTH”, “CONDITION CRITICAL” and “QR III” and sums up the golden 80’s. Let’s organize the contents here. METAL HEALTH (5 songs): Slick Black Cadillac / Don’t Wanna Let You Go / Let’s Get Crazy / Cum On Feel The Noize / Metal Health (Bang Your Head) CONDITION CRITICAL (2 songs): Sign Of The Times / Mama Weer All Crazee Now QR III (5 songs): Put Up Or Shut Up/The Pump/Main Attraction/Still Of The Night/The Wild And The Young Others (1 song): Slow Down (THE BEATLES cover)…and this It looks like this. It is a concentrated version of the masterpieces of the trilogy centered around the masterpiece “METAL HEALTH”, but the most delicious number is “QR III”. “Put Up Or Shut Up” and “The Wild And The Young” were also performed on “JAPAN AID 2ND” in 1987, but the other three songs are valuable… even for those who experienced them at the time. It’s a number that is hardly known to have been performed live unless otherwise known. And the performance that spells out such a set is what makes it so hot. As expected, Kevin has a tremendous presence. His wild voice is extremely dynamic, and he passionately rocks pop and catchy songs, pulling the audience in with his dynamic MC. To be honest, I think his successor Shortino is a better singer, but Kevin is definitely a better showman. The way David Lee Roth evokes a huge chorus with his free-spirited rhythm is so powerful. Of course, this doesn’t mean he’s bad at singing, but the heroic melancholy that rises up in the power ballad “Still Of The Night” is something only Kevin can bring out. Of course, Carlos Cavazo’s bluesy guitar and Frankie Vanelli’s powerful beat are both strong. QUIET RIOT is by no means Kevin’s one-man band, but the reason they rose to become the darlings of the times was simply due to his showmanship… You can experience a hot show that makes you think so. In fact, the performance in Japan was the final stage of the “QR III TOUR,” and after leaving Japan, they completed performances in Alaska and Hawaii. Kevin was fired due to his poor behavior, and QUIET RIOT started to lose momentum. This is a valuable live album that allows you to experience the real sound of the performance in Japan that was realized on the verge of collapse. Genuine LA metal that led the times. The last appearance of that golden age. Live at Ryogogu Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan 27th November 1986 TRULY AMAZING/PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 (43:17) 01. Put Up Or Shut Up 02.
