Description
The release has been decided so that you can enjoy QUEENSRYCHE’s heyday all at once! For this work, let’s explain each recording one by one. First up is “EYES OF ROCK CITY”. What is recorded on discs 1-3 of discs 1 to 2 is the audience recording of THE OPERATION: MINDCRIME TOUR 1988-1989 UK performance “Nottingham, November 8, 1988” performance. Recorded by the metal master Crazy S.! The master provided directly by him has been re-digitized using the latest technology. As you can see from the fact that it was released independently, the sound is truly a masterful recording. For the first three songs, the vocals sometimes tend to be a little over-peaked, but after that they become very stable, and the Crazy S.-like direct sound continues until the end! The highlight of this tour is the reenactment (albeit not completely) of the super masterpiece concept “OPERATION: MINDCRIME”. The reproduction part is in the middle! It is arranged with a group of famous songs from other works before and after it. The show begins with the early masterpiece “Queen Of The Reich,” followed by four consecutive hits of “RAGE FOR ORDER,” and the dramatic acoustic ballad “No Sanctuary” of “THE WARNING.” Then, after the approximately 46-minute “OPERATION: MINDCRIME” part, the essence of the debut EP is packed with “The Lady Wore Black” and “Nightrider/Blinded.” Finally, it concludes with the super famous song “Take Hold Of The Flame” from “THE WARNING”. When it comes to reenactment live performances, only the concept part tends to get attention, but rather, the other parts are really delicious. The flavor of famous songs concentrated and reduced in a limited time is truly a special taste! And, although it is the “OPERATION: MINDCRIME” part that is sandwiched in between, this tour is a shortened version in which “Suite Sister Mary”, “The Needle Lies”, “Waiting For 22”, and “My Empty Room” are cut. Of course, musically speaking, the complete reproduction performance that follows is superior, but what is noteworthy here is the enthusiasm of the audience as they experience the concept of this historic masterpiece for the first time. While being toyed with in the dazzling world of the drama, he was astonished to see how the pieces were assembled so precisely, saying, “I can’t believe it!” This document feeling is completely different from the later promised reproduction live. And from track 4 of “EYES OF ROCK CITY” disc 2, the St. Paul performance held in September of THE RAGE FOR ORDER TOUR 1986-1987. Since it was an opening act at the time, it was a live performance of about 45 minutes, but it was recorded with an extremely vivid sound like a soundboard. On this day, the live show included 5 songs from “RAGE FOR ORDER” among the short set list of 9 songs. Looking back, there were many undercard performances on this tour, and after that, the emphasis was on reproducing “OPERATION: MINDCRIME”. Yes, even though “RAGE FOR ORDER” is an undisputed masterpiece, it has continued to be treated poorly at live performances. Although there are only 5 songs here, the live performance focused on “RAGE FOR ORDER” is extremely valuable, and it is a part where you can enjoy QUEENSRYCHE, which is historically unparalleled. Even those who don’t know the sound source of QUEENSRYCHE can enjoy all the delicious parts. QUEENSRYCHE was at its peak, always breaking the ground in heavy metal.
