Description

This work was recorded at the “August 4, 1984 Nippon Seinenkan” performance. Their first performance in Japan was two times at Nippon Seinenkan in Tokyo and one time at Mainichi Hall in Osaka, so this was a memorable first live performance in Japan. This work is a complete audience recording of about 80 minutes of such a commemorative concert. It is a live recording board digitized directly from the original cassette received from Taper. For that reason, the sound of this work is outstandingly fresh. As a band that constructs a musical world with precise performance skills, the clarity of the sound is especially important, but even though this work was made 31 years ago, there is no noise or tape deterioration, and it sounds like it was recorded yesterday. The intertwining of each instrument is revived with such freshness. The performance is so perfect that even in this work, which is 100% performed by the original, there are no mistakes that can be found. Although it is impregnable to that extent, you can fully enjoy the sense of presence and on-site feeling that only a live performance can provide. Even if the performance is equally perfect, the atmosphere that each note breathes is different. This coexistence creates a flavor unique to this work that cannot be tasted even in well-crafted official works or audience recordings. After “Deliverance,” you can hear the Japanese greeting “Thank you very much, hello!” as a bonus. I’m also happy to hear “NM 156,” “Before the Storm,” “No Sanctuary,” “Child of Fire,” and “Roads To Madness.” This has more meaning than simply “getting a lot of songs and getting a good deal” or “listening to the entire live performance.” In fact, the 14 songs included in this work are the entire repertoire of QUEENSRYCHE at the time. It’s all about the debut EP “QUEENSRYCHE” + first album “THE WARNING” + “Prophecy”. In other words, all the possibilities of QUEENSRYCHE (at that time) were condensed into one show. For those who loved them not as the “pioneers of prog metal” but as the “successors of orthodox metal,” the set list of this work is not as definitive as even the later “OPERATION: MINDCRIME complete reproduction” Is it? “LIVE IN TOKYO” revives the ultimate official video with the world’s highest quality. On the other hand, this work captures the truth of the live show where the entire repertoire was performed with a pure live recording. This is a luxurious set that will let you enjoy QUEENSRYCHE’s first visit to Japan in terms of both quality and fruit. We present this work to everyone who cannot forget the “future form of orthodox heavy metal” that they showed us 31 years ago.
