QUEEN + Adam Lampert’s “THE RHAPSODY TOUR” was at its peak following the huge boom that started with the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Introducing the best original recording that will permanently preserve that first day! Of course, what is included in this work is “January 25, 2020: Saitama Super Arena performance”. Many first-day albums have already appeared due to the unprecedented excitement, but this is the finest audience recording that shines at its highest peak. Three types will be released simultaneously, and this is the first of them. Here, as the basics of the basics, let’s check the position of the memorable performance in Japan itself from the panoramic view of “THE RHAPSODY TOUR”. 2019/February 24th: ACADEMY AWARDS performance/July 10th-August 23rd: North America (26 performances)/September 21st: Italy performance/September 28th: GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL performance January 2020 18th + 19th: Korea (2 performances) ・January 25th-30th: Japan (4 performances) ←★Here★ ・February 5th-29th: Oceania (10 performances) ・May 24th-July 8th: Europe (27 performances) [From masterpiece to ultimate. The best sound that has been completely reborn] This is the overall picture of the world tour that has been announced so far. Last year, the tour focused on North America, and this year’s schedule will include Asia, Oceania, and Europe. This work is a 2-disc full live album that completely records the first day performance of Lee’s performance in Japan. This show was already reported last week as part of the highest peak master 4-disc set “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020 (hereinafter referred to as the previous work)”, but in reality, this work was refined from the first day with meticulous mastering. Wait a minute! You may be thinking, “What is this remastered version?”, but it’s too early to make a judgment based on that. This is a new version that has been reborn with an incredible sound. In the first place, even when you say “remaster”, there is a wide range of quality. I’m sure many collectors are acutely aware of this through experience. Of course, it depends on your mastering skills, but what’s even more important is the original sound. Audience recordings in particular have a wide range of individuality, and even if they sound similar at first glance, they are completely different when you closely check the type of sound, directivity, stereo feel, separation of each range, etc. And each of them has types that can be improved through mastering, and others that cannot be changed no matter how hard you try (not that they are physically unchangeable, but that if you modify them even a little, they will become unaltered). Moreover, the judgment is quite difficult. Although you can get some indication from the waveform, you won’t know how much it will improve until you actually do the work. The story has become too long, but in short, the recording that became the basis of this work is the one that is the best compatible with mastering. It’s like being reborn into something completely different. The previous work was a great recording that had a strong core and recorded detailed details, but the sound was a little rounded and its vividness was not fully conveyed. In contrast, this product suppresses the thick ringing, makes the core stand out, and makes the outline stand out sharply. Furthermore, the applause that was too loud in some places has been alleviated. As a result, the powerful core of the performance sound resonates more directly, and the edges are extremely sharp. The sound of the previous work has become crystal clear, as if it were through frosted glass. The key point here is that “the noise has not been completely wiped away.” Of course, I think it feels much thinner than the previous work, but it still has the ingredients that give the core a luster and make you feel the thickness of the deep bass. This results in a sound that has a natural balance and plenty of response in each range, which is different from simply bringing out the peak. If you don’t know the previous work, the explanation was vague, but for those who purely listen to this work, all I can say is “excellent.” You can’t mistake it for a sound board because it absorbs the lively applause and chanting, but it is comparable to a sound board in terms of thickness, clarity, and closeness. Even the sound of the snare, which tends to give off a sense of distance, doesn’t feel like an audience, the heavy bass kicks up your five organs, and the midrange shakes your six senses. And the treble that extends beautifully above that. The vibrato that Adam sings is super clear, not only the lyrics but also the swing width, and Roger’s shout is at the level of breathing. And even though Brian’s orchestration is thick, it is not cloudy or cloudy, and it emits a golden glow like a temple on the screen. Well, for example, imagine a film concert where the official album is played. The sound of the performance is just the best, and the mood of joy is just as raw. This work is a live album spelled out with such a sound. [The most gorgeous full show ever] And when you listen to the sound of this work, even the familiar first day sounds like a different performance. We have already introduced this set list many times, but since this work will be kept forever, let’s organize it again. 70’s (17 songs) – Scary Princess: Keep Yourself Alive (★★) / Doing All Right (★★) – Queen II: Seven Seas of Rhye – Sheer Heart Attack: Now I’m Here / Killer Queen / In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited・A Night at the Opera: I’m in Love With My Car (★★)/Love of My Life/’39 (★★)/Bohemian Rhapsody・Splendid Lace: Somebody to Love (★) / Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together) / Tie Your Mother Down (★) / Dedicated to the world: We Will Rock You / We Are the Champions / Jazz: Don’t Stop Me Now (★) / Bicycle Race (★★) 80s/90s (11 songs)・The Game: Another One Bites the Dust/Crazy Little Thing Called Love/Dragon Attack (★★)・Hot Space: Under Pressure・The Works: Hammer to Fall (★) / I Want to Break Free (★) / Radio Ga Ga・Mr. Bad Guy: I Was Born To Love You・Kind of Magic: Who Wants to Live Forever (★)・The Miracle: I Want It All Innuendo: The Show Must Go On (★) *Note: Songs marked with a “★” cannot be heard in the official video of the first visit to Japan, “LIVE IN JAPAN.” Furthermore, the songs marked with “★★” are songs performed for the first time in Japan by QUEEN+Adam. …and it looks like this. All four performances in Japan this time had the same selection, but only on the first day of this work, the position of “I Was Born To Love You” is different. On the other days, it was after “Dragon Attack” in the middle of the show, but this work only appeared after the final stage “The Show Must Go On”. And the set boasts the largest number of songs ever. Their first visit to Japan is also included in the official video “LIVE IN JAPAN”, but this time it is completely different, and about half of the 13 songs can not be heard on “LIVE IN JAPAN”. In addition, QUEEN + Adam will be releasing 5 songs for the first time in Japan, including “Keep Yourself Alive,” “Bicycle Race,” “’39,” “Doing All Right,” and “Dragon Attack.” In particular, “Keep Yourself Alive” and “Doing All Right” from “The Scarlet Princess” have been used in movies, giving them a historical flavor typical of “THE RHAPSODY TOUR.” QUEEN + Adam achieved stadium concerts in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka with the popularity of their heyday. This is a 2-disc live album that will forever preserve that glorious first day with the ultimate sound. Those who have experienced “SAITAMA SUPER ARENA 2020” will be blown away by the improvement, and those who have experienced it for the first time will definitely be intoxicated by the best quality.
