Description
Good sound, good songs, good performance…a masterpiece live album that depicts “THE GAME TOUR” at its peak, with all three elements. This work includes “September 10, 1980 Milwaukee Performance”. This is the best audience recording. From “THE GAME TOUR”, in addition to the official work “QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL”, we have also introduced masterpiece live albums such as “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1980” and “WEMBLEY ARENA 1980 1ST NIGHT”. In order to organize the collection, let’s first check the show’s position from the heyday of “THE GAME TOUR 1980”. ●1980《“THE GAME” released on June 30th》・June 30th-July 14th: North America #1 (14 performances)・August 5th-September 30th: North America #2 (35 performances) ←★Coco★《“FLASH GORDON” released on December 8th》・November 23rd – December 18th: Europe (17 performances) ●February 12th – 19th, 1981: Japan (6 performances)・2 March 28th – March 21st: Latin America #1 (7 performances), September 25th – October 18th: Latin America #2 (6 performances), November 24th + 25th: North America #3 (2 performances) ←★Official This is QUEEN’s world tour at its peak. “QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL” is the final “North American #3”, and “WEMBLEY ARENA 1980 1ST NIGHT” is the “European” leg. On the other hand, the Milwaukee performance of this work is “North America #2” before the release of “FLASH GORDON”. This was the 21st concert. This is the latest release of “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1980,” which was released the other day and is currently enjoying great acclaim. This is before the 6th performance. [A masterpiece recording representing the heyday of the era] This work, which records such a show, is the finest audience recording representing the North American leg of “THE GAME TOUR” in its heyday. It is a brush-up of the famous album “IT’S A KILLER”. “DEFINITIVE CHICAGO 1980” was also wonderful, but this work is not inferior at all. Chicago is half a step ahead in terms of neatness, but the strength of this work is its strong core. The tone is imprinted with the audience, but the straight delivery and solid response are also excellent. There was almost no acoustics in the venue, and even the huge cheers (perhaps for some reason) did not come between the performance. The extremely thick and powerful performance sound approaches right in front of your eyes. That is what a great recording of a little radio broadcast is like. On top of that, the sense of stability is amazing. When it comes to powerful recordings, I am concerned about roaring sounds and overpeaks, but there is no need to worry about that with this work. Even when it becomes fortissimo, it doesn’t shake, it doesn’t distort, and it remains glossy and beautiful. That splendor was felt in “IT’S A KILLER”, but this work is an upgraded version that further refines such an exquisite master. Of course, it is not a reckless sound pressure gain, but a meticulous remaster that carefully analyzes and arranges each sound range, and the well-balanced and three-dimensional feel is wonderful. For example, range balance. In the original sound, the focus was too much on the midrange, and the vocals and guitar were not very good, but in this work, this has been loosened and organized. As a result, not only the vocals and guitar, but also the entire ensemble has become clearer. Plus stereo balance. The original sound was slightly to the right, perhaps due to the positional relationship with the on-site PA, but this work can be directly opposed to QUEEN. Of course, it also corrects momentary drops in sound and pitch deviations without overlooking them. It brought out the potential of the recording itself and maximized its perfection as a live album. This product is truly worthy of the name “Definitive.” [A great performance that is at its best] The show drawn with such a top-notch updated sound is overwhelming! After all, Freddie is in great condition!! He sings with a powerful voice without fakes. The opening songs “Jailhouse Rock” and “Let Me Entertain You” are amazing. Far from being dangerous, she has a beautiful voice that comes out as much as she wants, and she can sing “Play The Game”, which requires a high note, without any difficulty. Freddie himself seems to be satisfied with how well he is doing, and is in a good mood as he freely plays around in “Killer Queen”. If Freddie is doing well so far, there’s nothing to be scared of. The three of them heated up as if being dragged along, and performed in a close-up manner (just to be sure, the pitch is accurate). The drum and guitar solo part in the middle is a nearly 10-minute performance, and Brian, who always tends to miss somewhere, is almost perfect. His performance is so good that I want to ask, “Did something good happen?” But I can think of two reasons. One is the schedule. Actually, there was a nine-day off before this show. Up until this point, the band’s engine has been running at full power, having toured the United States with 34 performances. After that break, I was in perfect condition. Another reason is the huge success of the single/album. In fact, Brian takes the MC role in front of “Love Of My Life,” where he says, “I heard it a while ago, and it became No. 1 on Billboard.” Just as he was feeling fulfilled both physically and mentally, he received news of his long-cherished desire to win the U.S. Championship. It is a great performance that explodes with joy. Normally, I should have spent time on “Mustapha,” “Death On Two Legs,” “You’re My Best Friend,” and “Fat Bottomed Girls,” which can’t be heard on “QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL,” but I forget even that. The sound is an upgraded version of the famous recording that represents the hugely successful tour, and the performance is a blast. This is a great album that perfectly combines the three elements of a truly great music album: good sound, good songs, and good performance.
