Description
The famous recording, which was praised as “Japan’s best masterpiece of 1976” in terms of both sound and performance, has been reborn with the highest peak. The masterpiece contains the audience recording of the “March 31, 1976: Nippon Budokan” performance. Yes, this is an upgraded version of the masterpiece “OPERATIC ECSTASY” which was sold out and went out of print during its huge popularity! One year after their legendary first visit to Japan, QUEEN has returned to Japan with their masterpiece “A Night at the Opera,” which shines in rock history. At our store, we have archived many famous recordings. First of all, let’s organize the collection according to the schedule at the time and check the position of this work. ・March 22nd: Nippon Budokan ・March 23rd “ELEGANCE IS AN ATTITUDE: NAGOYA 1976” ・March 24th: Himeji City Welfare Hall ・March 26th: Kyuden Gymnasium (2 performances) ・March 29th 『DEFINITIVE OSAKA』 1976 (2 performances)”・March 31st: Nippon Budokan [This work]・April 1st “INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDOKAN”・April 2nd “THE PROPHECY: SENDAI 1976”・April 4th : Ryogoku Nihon University Auditorium, 11 performances in total. The opening night was also held at Nippon Budokan, but after that they toured various places and performed two consecutive nights in the second half. Therefore, although this work is “2ND NIGHT”, it is the first day of two consecutive performances. “OPERATIC ECSTASY” has reigned as the pinnacle of such shows. The recording itself has been known for a long time, but it was discovered by the original master in 2004. It also includes parts that were cut from previous releases, and the sound has been greatly improved. Not only did it update the highest peak of this day, but it also received great praise as “the highest peak of the entire 1976 Japan Tour.” In fact, the sound is amazing. Speaking of Japanese recordings of QUEEN in the 70s, it is natural that there is a distance, and most of them are concerned about how the performance sound will not be disturbed by the yellow enthusiasm, but this recording was different. Perhaps because the position was so close to the PA, there weren’t many screaming fans around. Of course, the number of women at the venue was the highest in history, so it wasn’t zero, but Freddie’s singing voice also came close to being strong without interfering with the performance. Moreover, the balance is excellent. Each instrument is neatly separated, and even when the band is all together, the sense of separation remains unwavering. It was a live album that had that beautiful sound throughout. …And so far, we are talking about “OPERATIC ECSTASY”. This work is also the same famous recording, but it has been further upgraded. This time, we re-digitized the original cassette excavated in 2004 using the latest equipment. Of course, re-digitizing a vintage master doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an upgrade. In the end, there may be little change, or the analog tape may deteriorate and become worse. However, in the case of this work, it was a great success! The playback sound is brighter than the previous edition “OPERATIC ECSTASY”, and even the previous edition, which sounded so wonderful, feels fluffy. Moreover, the sense of stability is further improved. In fact, due to the characteristics of the recording, there is a slight hiss in some places, but even that becomes natural and easy on the ears. That’s what makes it sound like the master’s generation has improved by about two generations (although since it’s the original, the actual generation can’t be improved). That alone would give it a perfect score of 100, but this work aimed even higher. Actually, the biggest drawback of “OPERATIC ECSTASY” is the lack of tape change. Although it was smaller than the original group, it was still missing only the intro of “The Seven Seas Of Rhye”. Therefore, this work was supplemented with a separate recording of the masterpiece “INVITE YOUR TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDOKAN”. Most of this title is “April 1st” the next day, but “March 31st”, which is the same as this work, is partially used. And, just as “The Seven Seas Of Rhye” was recorded on March 31st. Thanks to that, we were able to not only update the longest record in history, but also reprint the complete version of the show. The show depicted in such an ultimate form is also the highest peak. During the first half of this tour, Freddie’s voice stopped coming out, and he was especially devastated in Fukuoka. When it came to the Osaka performance, it was almost time for Dr. Stop. However, he recovered after taking a break before and after the Osaka performance. In the second half, we got back to normal. The Nippon Budokan of this work is the first show of its main tone. Still, it sounds like he was a bit skeptical, as he seemed to be saving up a bit in the first half, but in the middle, he seemed to be confident that he had fully recovered, and started flying around wildly. In particular, the merciless vocalization explodes from “The Prophet’s Song”, which begins with the Japanese MC saying “Please listen to it”! The middle part that takes advantage of the echo is an amazing singing voice. As long as Freddie was revived, there was nothing scary about Queen back then. The band was in a good mood, and the tempo seemed to be raised to a high pitch. And “Seven Seas Of Rhye”. It has been kept under wraps until now, perhaps due to poor health, but it will be revealed to the public all at once. It will give you a wonderful performance. Moreover, this “Seven Seas Of Rhye” is not only a treasure in Japan. In fact, it was no longer played after this day, and when it was revived after “THE WORKS TOUR” it was a short version as part of the medley. In other words, it was the last complete version “Seven Seas Of Rhye” sung by this Freddie. This work revives that precious take in its complete form. Live in Japan by the four people who created that “A Night at the Opera”. This work is a complete live album that updates that masterpiece recording in both sound and length. A world-class treasure, including Freddie’s last complete “Seven Seas Of Rhye”, was born. (Remastered memo)) ★ Recorded from the master tape ★ This edition is equalized in the same direction as the previous edition, and this edition is brighter. (★The quality of the sound has improved by about 2 ranks) It definitely has the highest sound quality ever. ★His is at the same level, but the texture is more natural. ★The length is the same except for the supplementary parts, but the existing parts are hooked to the performance section and faded in/out. ★This edition starts with tape stop and fades in/out with a hiss noise. Therefore, this edition has a slightly longer recording. ★★This is the best queen title of the year. A must-listen/must-have for all fans.
